Vellum paper

Could anyone offer me some suggestions as to how you attach clear velum paper when scrapbooking. I am guessing there is something special to use as it seems the sticky adhesives would show through. Thanks for any help.

3m makes a vellum tape.

I've just used my regular tape runner - the adhesive is clear and I do think it is a 3M product. No problem.

Xyron sticker maker works for smaller journaling pieces and such.

Or you can use eyelets, too.

or brads, or "stitch" it on with fibres, or you can just use what ever adhesive you have and then creatively hide the glue that shows thru with a sticker or punchies ect!

ZIG memory system makes a '2 way glue' it goes on blue and dries clear and is available at Walmart and Michaels Works great!

just a little name dropping here! but when I took Robin Johnson's vellum class last year, she suggested lots of things.

1) And my favorite idea, is to hide the adhesive under other elements on the page, so put it under photo's etc. It does mean the edges of your vellum may well be loose, but since the page ends up in a page protector, she felt this was ok.

2) eyelets, brads, sew it, any kind of none adhesive.

3) Xyron - this doesn't always work for me though, I tend to get a mottled look. I've been told it's better with the permanent adhesive, and on a lighter background.

4) Spray Adhesive - this is nasty stuff, but Robin said she did use it quite often.

5) you can get clear photo tabs and vellum adhesive, but imho, they are still visible because they change the way the light hits the vellum.

I usually use eyelets, brads, etc. but it I'm not doing that I will sometimes use scotch brand two sided tape. It does show through but only slightly and if I put it under words I really can't see it at all. I always think I'm going to buy some vellum tape but that costs enough that I keep buying other scrapping stuff with my bugeted dollars, lol.
I've had very bad luck with zig 2 way glue though, it has shown through really badly for me.
