Hi,

I have two family members who will be joining us at a Chef Mickey dinner meal this weekend. However, they are both vegetarians and I am worried that there will be nothing for them.

Has anyone recently experienced the CM dinner? Any veggie options there besides mashed potatoes/side dishes?

I tried calling the dining number, and was told there should be a veggie option but i am worried at what that means. Also, was told that it is too late to order any special/dietary request food. Is it really too late? I reviewed some posts on this board where diners had special requests on the day of dining. Is this a new policy?

Any helpful suggestions?

Its a Disney Character buffet so it is going to be limited. If I remember right, they had stir fried veggies, green beans, broccoli, etc. Unfortunately, they are in the minority. I live low carb so I know all about that! Luckily I am a carnivore!!!!!!!!!!!

We ate there in Sept, and I remember having plenty. I am ovo-lacto, and not terribly picky (except that I can't eat mushrooms.) IIRC, there were several kinds of salad -- green, pasta, maybe caprese? -- and some excellent mashed potatoes. There were some things on the "kids" buffet -- pizza? -- and also plenty of desserts. Also some veggies, green beans or something, although I believe there was also a veggie that had ham/bacon in it. (Can you tell it wasn't a memorable meal? Not great, not terrible, it was just food, lol.) I would expect that it will be a starch heavy meal (there's no tofu stir-fry or anything like that,) but no one will starve.

 on being told it's too late to order special dietary anything. I dined with friends with a *multitude* of allergies and special dietary needs on that trip, and we didn't even send in the special diets form ahead of time. At CM, the chef walked the buffet with us, and if the need had arisen, would have plated anything in the back that we were concerned about from the buffet. If they really have an issue with anything, I'm sure the server would be happy to grab the chef for them, but I doubt it's necessary.
