Vegetarians?

I just learned about this stuff this past semester at my college.
Anyways from what I understood we ate a lot of foraged plants, not just seasonal berries. We only began to DOMESTICATE these things recently. We did not just eat seasonal berries and meat, we ate a form of corn (not domesticated corn) and other familiar foods that we have since domesticated.

I never said that's all we ate. I just said that was our primary source of food. Obviously as I've pointed out earlier in this thread, we've always been omnivores.

NOM NOM NOM

I ate a couple today, lol. Just be warned, they make you feel like you're eating some sliders from White Castle about 15 minutes after you eat them.
I've never been to White Castle, so I don't know if that's a good or bad thing, lol.

Yeah, same. Hunting and gathering societies, woo.

It is DEFINITELY a good thing. :thumbsup2 You haven't lived until you're downed 20 sliders in a row, and then puked them all up a few hours later.

Oh yeah, they have this habit of making your waistline just a bit bigger, but no one pays attention to that...
;)

WHHHAAAAT?

You have to go once you're done with this vegetarian thing.

Mmmm sliders.. me and three of my friends were going to attempt to beat the record of four guys, 100 burger and 24 fries in an hour, but it got upped way higher, so we gave.

Agreed. I hear that they also taste great when you're absolutely drunk out of your mind and they absorb alcohol well. :rolleyes1 I wouldn't know yet, haha.

Ouch. I have a little appetite, but give me White Castle and I'll eat for days on end. One of the great things about the East Coast, there's always a White Castle somewhere.

Lol, thanks for the support.

Hmmm.. the ideas...

Lol, thank you.

Thanks! I'm going to try to this, since it's also helping wean my parents into it.

It seems just saying 'I want to be a vegetarian' has no sticking power. OTOH, telling them 'I don't eat cow anymore' had more of an impact. Now my mom even helped me find items on the menu last night that didn't have beef. So, I'm hoping this approach will help.

Yeah, I've heard of the lunch meat stuff, do you know the brand name? It's really really hard to find a lot of the brands I'm looking for since we don't have a Whole Foods or Trader Joes around. It's just like Walmart and Target, lol.

At the Super Walmart by me, there was a brand.
Gosh darn it, I'll go look at it in just a second.

This requires a massive:

This is because...?

It's just her opinion, John.

Ahh, I had a spicy black bean burger for lunch today. Wow, it was amazinggg! I think I'm buying some of those grillers, or maybe the vegan ones next. I hope they're as good! I also think I'm going to try some Boca, since John here is raving about them.

Chili's has delicious black bean burgers. Is that where you went?

you can headdesk until you get a concussion, but she's partly right. partly.

its been proven that cows, for example, have only been domesticated for (in the grand scheme of things) a few years. they've not been domesticated long enough that their bodies have changed quite to the point that our bodies need them to. that is why such a large population (in the grand scheme of things) are allergic to milk. we're just not *ready* to use cows in that way yet.

Yeah, I read something like that somewhere. (that's so specific )

This is because...?

As stated more than twice, ****-sapiens are omnivores. If we have the ability to digest animals and we have been eating them since time basically began, how are they not here to help us survive?

If they're not here to compete to survive, then what are they here for? Please provide me with some sort of science to back-up animals not being here for survival or your opinion. I'd love to see some..

Nope, I ate a Morningstar Farms one, but they're the same thing. I hear Chili's black bean burger are just from MSF. :)

But Chili's is the place I had my first veggie burger, and it was amazing. :)

I would believe it, haha.
I could literally eat those for days.

And I found the brand. (and made myself a "ham" sandwich ;))
Smart Deli
I recommend the "turkey"

I'm determined to find these really good "hot dogs"
I'll find them soon.
Unfortunately, I ate them all yesterday, so the wrapper is who knows where.

I've never had White Castle, or Taco Bell...yikes.

From what i remember, White Castle, IMO, isn't thaaat good.
Taco bell, on the other hand, i could have lived off of. (:

ETA:

To also add-

Smart Balance margerine *spelling, for sure* is really good, even if you don't want to be a vegan. It melts like butter and it's just perfect. We also use the spray butter I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, just for the health reasons.

Smart Taste is really good pasta, and it's got a lot of nutrients in it. Just, saying, you know. Haha (:

All these smart things, hahaha.
And I will go on a hunt for those hotdogs.
They're miiighty fine. (:

Honestly, I haven't researched farther than some magazine that PETA sent me a while ago... but PETA is annoyingly obnoxious and I don't really support PETA. I don't feel the need to research. As long as I don't go forcing everyone to be vegetarians, I don't feel like I have to have a reason.

My opinion: eating the insides of animals is gross. raising animals just to eat is cruel. i know that i would not like to be raised just so someone can eat me. i know i take the 'golden rule' very far, but it's just how i feel. my being a vegetarian is based on my beliefs and my morals. i couldn't ruin the life of an animal just because i felt like i needed to eat it. not when there are other options for me. i believe all life is sacred and i take it to that farthest extent.

I agree with what you're saying here (sorry I don't know your name). Edited to add I see it's Emily in your signature :)
Show me one reason they're (the animals) are here for us to eat. Just because you can eat something doesn't mean it was put here solely for you to consume. We were put on this earth and there are animals that can eat us, but that's not our 'purpose' you know?
This is just my opinion and I do feel strongly about it, but I of course want everyone to have their own opinions and I DO NOT push my beliefs on anyone. I only speak about it when asked, or if someone's interested or would like some help. Not to be all self righteous or anything of that sort.

If this was Facebook, I would "like" this post.

(: You and I, my friend, are very similar. I'm strong about my vegetarianism, but I would like people to respect my opinions just as I respect their opinion. I don't judge you for eating meat. I don't flaunt it. I speak about it when asked, and I love giving advice.
I'm a vegetarian and I ain't ______ scared of him ;) (3OH3 song...)

Aw thanks Emily (I'm Tracy by the way!)
I would have 'liked' your post too.
We think alike, and I love that song!
