Ok I know i've posted a ton of times. But we have one more night open and I need to get a reservation in! (Only 7 days to go!!) Has anyone done 1900 park fare and if so can you tell me what specifically is vegetarian? Or better yet, would there be a way to contact them to find out what is vegetarian? Otherwise maybe you could give me some suggestions. so far we have:

Alfredos
Boma
Mama Melrose
san angel inn
whispering canyon.

thanks.

Boma has lots of vegetarian offerings. If you are planning on going to 1900 Park Fare, and are just worried about accidentally eating something made with meat stock, just explain your dining preferences to your server, and they will be able to point you in the right direction.

You could also look on the Dining Reviews board; there are several vegetarian dining threads there.

Cheers!

I've read some reviews from Flowerschild, who I believe is a vegan, and eats at 1900 Park Fare often. Maybe do a search for his reviews...

Are you looking for a character meal? Garden Grill is a family style character meal that seems to cater to vegetarians well. Spacewannabe (another veggie disboarder) recently posted a postive review of dinner at Crystal Palace. We were also very happy with our lunch at Crystal Palace in January and are planning to return for dinner in a few weeks!

I'm a vegetarian, but I've only been to 1900 Park Fare for breakfast, so I'm no help there. As far as other places go, I just had good to great meals at Spoodles and California Grill. Both had numerous vegetarian options.

Thanks! I meant to post, those places in the list are places we have ADRs already.. so I need just one more. I'll keep garden grille, spoodles, and crystal palace in mind! If anyone can let me know what's veggie on crystal palace dinner menu I'd greatly appreciate it!

I'm also a vegetarian and we just returned on Monday. We didn't eat at 1900 Park Fare but we did eat at Kona Cafe and they were very flexible with the menu. The only vegetarian appetizer on the menu was a salad and I didn't feel like having that so they made me an appetizer portion of the Vegetable Rice Bowl. I had the Pan Asian Pasta for my entree and they substituted tofu for the chicken or shrimp. Both dishes were excellent.
We also ate at the California Grill and I was very disappointed. We eat here every time we visit Disney because they serve a dish called the Vegetarian Unplugged which is usually outstanding. They serve 5 or 6 small portions of different vegetarian sides on the plate. In the past, each little portion was interesting, unique (without being too weird) and artfully presented. This time each thing was so ordinary - a spoonful of mashed potato, 2 small pieces of roasted potato, a spoonful of polenta with a few mushrooms on top, a tiny flatbread with onions and a few wilted greens. Boring. Definately a waste of 2 table service credits.
The Coral Reef has excellent vegetarian dishes. They had a creamy mushroom soup that had a vegetable base - it was a little peppery but delicious. For an entree they have a vegetable strudel that was sooo good. It's filled with lentils and vegetables and wrapped in a crispy, buttery pastry. It's served on a leek fondue that compliments the strudel perfectly. It comes with a piece of goat cheese on top but I had them leave that off.

They have some tofu based dishes at lunch and dinner, and veggies too. I can't remember the specifics, I looked at menus on Allears though.
Just another suggestion: 50s Primetime. Apparently the chef is very accomodating and will prepare dishes not mentioned on the menu.

Alfredos- The alfredo is sooooo good here (but so rich, you'll be quite full)
Boma- I've heard that the waiter will take you around to show you what's vegetarian and others have commented that the chef will also make you something special
Mama Melrose- Eggplant dish available, vegetarian soup, salads, and flatbread. The flatbread here is very good.
san angel inn- the vegetarian combo plate here is VERY good. this is my favorite restaurant.
whispering canyon- there is one vegetarian meal here but if you dont like beans, you'll hate it (I am a non-bean eater)

I really enjoy going to Marrakesh. The veggie couscous is flavorful and they give you SO much. I could not finish it.

Hope this helps :)

Oh I forgot to mention that the Rose and Crown has a curry dish that is pretty tasty. If you love mushrooms, they have a very interesting appetizer you might be interested in trying. There were pictures of the mushroom appetizer on the food pics thread. At Jiko, there is a peas, grains, and veggies dish that I've heard is very good and sweet potato tamales. You might also want to consider the Hollywood Brown Derby. They have a noodle bowl there with coconut tofu.

The buffets have chefs at each station (for sure at 1900 Park Faire). They are very kind and helpful with any questions. My son is a veggie (I used to be for 8 years!) and he never has a problem. We are dining with an imagineer this month at the Brown Derby and the chef has already called to personally make his meal perfection!!!

Thanks a lot! This is more info than I've found so far. :thumbsup2

As for beans, I love them, I'd almost prefer them to pasta most fo the time (mainly because most of the time there's a 'vegetarian' dish on the menu it's pasta so eating out for a week you can get pretty sick of that..). This is a very hard decision for me! My boyfriend is somewhat picky too so it's hard for me to pick something that I think he'll like. I'm on the less picky side.

For those that just came back from spoodles: can I ask what you got? Last year we went and they had a gnocci pasta that was vegetarian. I don't see that on the allears.net menu anymore, has it been discontinued?

Thanks again.

Hi
I'm veg and ate at 1900 Park Fare for dinner in August. It was really good. I had the mushroom ravioli with alfredo sauce, vegetable egg rolls and they also had a pasta with shrimp with asparagus and alfredo sauce that I didn't really care for. You can take the shrimp out if you don't eat it. They had pizza on the kids bar, and I think they had a salad bar. I know I had plenty to eat, but was more focused on my DGD 3 1/2 who was dressed up as Cinderella and the fun she was having. The characters were great with her. We got a lot of great pictures with Cinderella, Prince Charming, the 2 mice and some of the best pics are with the Fairy Godmother. We had a great time and can't wait to go again. (I'm sorry I can't remember more of what I had to eat). Have a great time.
