Vegetarianism

if you really care about the cause, you make silly sacrifices like that.

vegetarians who say they're doing it for animals rights are the exact same as people who say they're for animal rights but still wear fur. you cannot have it both ways.
now, vegetarianism that is for health reasons, by all means, wear your leather shoes, wear your makeup, eat your eggs.

just don't call yourself some animal rights activist and then still use animal byproducts. because thats just silly.

hahah no i don't wear make-up except completly like organic with no animal products

and i hate jello

and yeah i do eat cookies but i was just making a point there...
Me i wanted to be vegan but again i can't sacrafice my heath for animal even though i would like too...

Some medicines even contain animal products and you can't stop taking medicines.

How long have you been a veggie?
Ehh five or so years
What made you become a veggie?
I didn't like the thought of eating animal guts
How do your parents feel about it?
Super supportive, no joke. My uncle though, doesn't stop saying how 'terribly unhealthy' it is and that I should eat animals because God made them for us to eat.
=/

thanks.
Some of my friends think that if they dangle ham in front of my face it'll make me mad. It's like "i don't care if you eat it, i'm just not going to''
but let me tell you, it's quite annoying when people go 'does it bug you when i go like this?" then stuff meat into their mouth. no, it doesn't bug me that you're eating meat, it bugs me that you're eating in such a manner that the food is spilling out of your mouth :)

I have friends like that too. It's so annoying. I'm like idc what you eat, it's a personal choice.

I completely see your point.
But I say, that if someone wants to contribute to a cause even a little bit, then that's great.
You can give five dollars to charity or a million, it's still money.

I contribute to the cause as much as I can, given my circumstances.
If someone wants to contribute more than the norm, then power to them!
If they want to just give up red meat and still eat chicken and fish, at least they're helping a little bit. Any little bit counts.

but giving five dollars, then taking it right back isn't changing anything.
which is what you do when you cut out meat and keep byproducts.

oh, and guys, even if your makeup doesn't contain animal products, it was probably tested on a bunny.

But if you don't give the five dollars in the first place, you're making a negative impact. If you give it and take it back, you're REDUCING your impact.

I was a vegetarian in the fourth grade.
I was 10.
And I had nothing better to do :p

i just don't get it. i don't support going halfway and not finishing, if possible for you to do so and remain in good health. i mean you get points for trying, but thats it.

i respect a vegans willpower infinitely more than most people. its easy to be a vegetarian. try to be a vegan and have a life, seriously. most restaurants can not cater to your lifestyle. its hard.

Alot of people I know are vegetarians!

I personally dont really care and I sorta laugh to myself because my Dad is in the Leather business
I have to eat a hamburger atleast once a week! I need meat everyday or I feel like I cant go on. I know its pretty sad how much I love and need meat!

Okay. We can agree to disagree.
I respect vegans. A LOT.
But I say that going halfway is just fine.
It's really hard to be a vegan in today's society.
Maybe in 10 years, it'll be easier.
Anything you can do to help makes a difference. :confused3

I'd really like to cut out meat of my diet, but not for animal rights. It just grossed me out after I saw a whole guinea pig being roasted on the travel channel. I had a pet guinea pig for 5 years. And I'd be a lot healthier if I cut back on the meat, I think it'd make me take a totally different perspective on food.

I don't have much willpower though, so I probably wouldn't make it long.

My mom, however, doesn't think there's any good way to get protein except from meat. She also told me I'd miss my tacos.

I guess I can talk all I want and grimace whenever I think about eating a cow but it doesn't really matter if I don't do anything.

I'm gonna shut up now. =X

Not a vegetarian. I don't eat much meat at all and i can easily resist it but nah.

Just for all those vegans/veggies who want to wear make-up, but know that no animals were harmed in their creation, check out:

Urban Decay

They make some really awesome stuff and I love them.

and if it helps, Sephora online has an entire section designated to all natural vegan/veggie products. They're a little more expensive, but hey, it's for your cause, right?

Sephora Naturals and Organics
