Anybody had the veg. option at Le Cellier recently? Is it still the tofu on allearsnet? How was it? What's in it? Thanks!

Last month the veggie option on the dinner menu was grilled tofu with vegetables. Can't tell you how it was, but it was on the menu.

Bumping again. Really, no vegetarians eat at Le Cellier? I just can't believe that. Help us out, guys!

And another bump...I'm curious about the tofu and vegetable entree as well. The description doesn't sound very appealing, but who knows!

I can't help you, but I am interested in the answer! I made ADRs at Le Cellier for our January trip because the atmosphere sounds nice (I like the wine theme, too) and DH wants to eat there. DDs and I are veg, but not DH. I'm planning to call the restaurant a few days before our ADR to ask what is on the menu for vegetarians and if there is anything that they can whip up for us.

Maybe you can call LC directly and ask?

No clue on the tofu, but I could easily make a meal out of the cheddar chese soup and the different bread sticks they have :rotfl:

Unfortunately, the cheddar cheese soup isn't vegetarian.

I guess I may just have to! We might also just pop in the day before we go and just remind them we're coming.

My cousin (also a vegetarian---almost all the women in my family are! :rotfl: ) went to LC back in February, when the entree was a butternut squash risotto (changes with the season---so this might be closer to what you'd see in January---wintery things like squash and sweet potatoes), which she said was good, and they did offer to make something else for her since she wasn't too sure about squash (I love squash and wish this were the summer entree---but I know that's not terribly practical!), and they were booked up then, too. So I guess I'll just see what I can have when I get there and let everybody know once I've tried it (hopefully I'll have some pics of MANY vegetarian yummies :thumbsup2 ).

Yeah, as I found out by accident. :/

I'm not vegetarian (eat seafood and poultry), but I don't eat beef or pork (read: mammals).

However... if you want cheddar cheese soup without bits of bacon, try the version at Big River Grille on the Boardwalk! Love it!

It's not just bits of bacon that makes the soup unsuitable for vegetarians, it's also the stock the soup is made with. It might be veggie-friendly at Big River, but most likely not.

Ok, but I don't want to know about it. :)

Kinda like how I still eat marshmallows and other things with gelatin and just don't think about them. If it's not obvious, I can ignore it.
