I was wondering if anyone has made vegetarian requests at table service restaurants and if so, where and what did you get?
So far I have made ADRs at San Angel, Maya Gril(since we are staying at CSR), Crystal Palace for dinner, Chef Mickey's for breakfast and Mama Melrose. I have checked other sites that post menus for the table service places and most just say "vegetarian options available upon request" but they don't say what those options may be. :confused3 :

Most of the time I see an actual vegetarian dish on the menu, not that a vegetarian option is available. Maya Grill's dinner menu says it, but the vast majority don't. I haven't eaten at MG, so I couldn't tell you what they would serve you. There is a separate vegetarian menu at San Angel Inn, which isn't published anywhere for some reason. You have to ask for it. Why it's such a secret, I don't know. There's a combo plate and a salad on that menu. The other restaurants you list are fine for vegetarians as-is.

There are a few restaurants where you do have to ask for something to be made that isn't on any menu, but those are really in the minority.

Here's some links to help you out:

At the san angel inn there is a separate 'vegetarian' menu with 2 dishes on it. The one we had was the plato vegetarian i think it was called. it had a veggie stuffed burrito, an enchilada, and rice. It was very good.

At mama melrose we had what I think was called eggplant napoleon which was really good. it was layers of eggplant, tomato, and mozzarella cheese on a 'bed' of a canellini bean type stew. My boyfriend and I were both impressed. Sorry I don't have a picture of it.

I haven't eaten at the other places so I hope some others here can help you out.

That pic looks great! I loooove Mexican food. :p

It's really a shame that they don't mention vegetarian menu choices at San Angel--it might turn away some who might otherwise enjoy it.

ummm why isn't my image coming up as an image? that's really weird. it's in the tags??? I pushed the image button. Oh well.

you're right laura it's a shame they dont put the veggie dishes on the regular menu like other places do. I think a lot of people would try it, it's not anything 'weird' vegetarian, but it was sooooo good.

Also I THINK but i can't be positive the other thing on the menu besides plato vegetarian was cheese enchiladas which is what is on the top/mid right of the pic with the green, only a regular sized portion of them. It was pretty good but don't miss out on that burrito! the sauce on top is great.

Well, I haven't seen the menu, but another person reported that there was a salad. Perhaps it was an appetizer or just a menu change? I don't think I've ever seen a pic of the menu itself (it's so dark in there, though, must be hard to get a pic).

I'm really going to have to try SAI next time we go to WDW. I've never eaten there.

We had dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern with two vegetarians last October. The chef actually custom made something for them. It's probably based on what they have available at the time, which is why the choices aren't listed on the menu.

i only remember the menu because my boyfriend LOVES enchiladas and I was surprised he wanted to try the combo. That's why I think it was enchiladas.

I still want to know why my picture posted as a link instead of a picture??

I remember reading a dining review in the last month or two where most of the party were vegetarians. She had extensive reviews on a variety of restaurants and what they were served or could order. I'd do a search on the dining review thread and see if you can find it.
