Can anyone tell me if any of the soups on the cruise are vegetarian? Are the servers pretty good about knowing if a menu item is vegetarian? I have seen an example of the menu and see that they have a specific section which mentions vegetarian items but I also wondered if some of the other items are vegetarian but include cheese.
Thank you!!!!

They are great. Just let them know the first night and they will take care of you. If there is even a remote possibility of cross contamination on a non veg item you choose they will let you know.

we were on the magic this past summer and my daughter is a vegitarian and we found that most of the soups are made with a meat stock so be sure to ask. some nights our servers had meals specially made for her and they looked wonderful and she very much enjoyed them

I recall from our cruise that at dinner the vegetarian options were not extensive. There were maybe three entrees vegetarian versus probably 10 not. I'm sure they can mix and match veggies from certain entrees.

You can always ask your servers to check on what is in certain items. If you eat milk and egg products, there are sometimes items on the main menu that you can order, but there are always 2 vegetarian entrees listed each night.

One day for lunch, we ate at Tritons, and they don't list vegetarian entrees at lunch. That day we ended up ordering 3 appetizers instead (our server suggested it as an option, but also offered to have the chef make us something else). Well that worked great! We loved every one of the appetizers and it was one of the best lunches we had the whole time!

I have never done it, but people have mentioned that on the in-room dining menu there is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, but that you can ask for it to be just a cheese sandwich.

I also noticed at Plutos they now have nachos and salads as well as veggie burgers.

Personally, one of the reasons my family LOVES the DCL is because, as vegetarians, we feel we can always find something good to eat! Same at WDW. Most of the times on vacation, we have trouble finding something, but Disney does a great job.

Westjones what were the appetizers you had at Tritons? I agree Disney is great at providing options for vegetarians besides just salads. I am especially wondering about the butternut squash soup if it has a meat stock in it.

We had the chips & salsa, roasted vegetable tart, and hummus chick pea dip with flat bread.

Not everyone will think that makes up a great lunch, but DH and I loved it!

About the Butternut Squash Soup, I was told it was vegetarian (and we had it and loved it), but I would check again if I were you just to make sure. We eat dairy and egg products (we do eat eggs and dairy).
