I am hoping to find a place that has ice cream that is dairy-free for my friend and I who are both lactose intolerant. We're going in September. Also we'll be dinning at

Garden View Tea Room
Planet Hollywood (dinner)
Chefs de France (dinner)
Grand Floridian Cafe (dinner)
Cape May Cafe (breakfast)

And she is a vegetarian. Anyone have any insight on where we can find the ice cream and how well these places can accommodate a vegetarian? :confused3:

I personally don't know any of the answers, but this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2473465 might help you out :)

You should post in the Disabilities forum. They are excellent at helping with food restrictions.

Various locations around WDW carry Tofutti and even rice dream. Main street ice cream shop has it ( I just had a wonderful tofutti rootbeer float). O think most parks have at least one. Every resort should have or can get it. They have it here at Pop century, I got some as dessert at Boma.

Also there are non dairy cookies, caramel popcorn ( both called divvies), a cookie called life is good at almost all counter service and another one and a brownie without egg(just ask for the gluten free).

Just talk to a chef (call ahead for sit down), for counter service. The are super helpful and went out of their eat to help.

Head over to the DisAbilities Board there is a lot more allergy/intolerance information over there.

You can also e-mail special diets and they will send you a list of the CS places that will have the dairy free, etc. food available.

Planet Hollywood is the only one you might have some trouble at. I don't believe it's owned by Disney and they may not have lactose free items.

Make sure that the ADR's have the lactose intolerance and vegetarian listed so they know to send the chef out.
