My boyfriend and I are both pretty picky eaters, I'm a vegetarian and my boyfriend is, well, the opposite. He hates most vegetables and loves most meat. Can anyone think of some good restaurants where there would be something we'd both enjoy? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

My husband's idea of a vegetable is the ketchup on meat. I'm not a vegetarian but I do eat green things every once in a while. My brother-in-law is a vegetarian and my mother-in-law might as well be one.

One place that has satisfied us all has been Boma. It sounds exotic but it's really not that bad. I do not like spicy foods and was very surprised to find lots of things I could eat. My husband wore a path between the table and the meat dishes.

Another place we both like is the Biergarten. Sausages and heavy foods for him, lighter things for me.

However, that is all going to change based on my husband's latest doctor's report. All that heavy meat eating has caught up to him. Veggies and fruits will be his friend on the next Disney trip!

I know this situation all too well. I am also a vegetarian and my husband is a big meat eater.:) I can suggest a few restaurants we like to visit each trip..

Boma is excellent! He always is able to load up on plenty of meat and desserts while I have no trouble finding tasty things to eat such as hummus, vegetable skewers and soup. If either of you dislikes spices, this might not be the restaurant for you.

The Kona Cafe used to be extremely vegetarian and vegan friendly, however, this is changed in the past two years or so. But I am told that if you ask about a vegetarian meal they are happy to help. I was really sad when they changed the menu.

Another restaurant we love is the Liberty Tree Tavern. If you go during lunch you have a totally different menu with individual items rather than the set menu they have for dinner. However, I have never had any problems with dinner. Last year for dinner I was served a a dish called the Amber Waves of Grain which is a sauteed vegetable over grains with an herb coulis. It was good, but I found myself eating more of the salad and mashed potatoes my husband was served. I've read that the vegetarian meal has been changed this year, though. I think I remember it saying it was a noodle bowl.

As for Epcot, I've never had problems finding tasty food. Marraskesh is one our favorite restaurants to visit. I love the vegetable couscous while my husband is a big fan of the beef kebabs. We also love Biergarten. I have never had any trouble finding things to eat here.

I think the best advice I can offer is to check out the menus of all the restaurants you might be interested in. Only you and your boyfriend know exactly what you like to eat. I will say that Disney has always been very friendly and helpful when it comes to helping me find things to eat. Several times chefs have come to our tables to discuss my diet. I've also had two walk me along the buffet lines pointing out which foods were vegetarian and vegan!

You'll be just fine! Enjoy your trip!:goodvibes

I agree with Boma. DD is a vegetarian and a chef brought her through the line explaining all of the food choices. She felt confident that she was making good choices. And picky eater DS found plenty to eat too.

Really anywhere you can get a vegetarian meal. http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

We have the same situation. Dh wants a good steak and I am a vegetarian. Dd it depends on the day wether or not she eats meat.

We love Coral Reef, its a must do each trip. Le Cellier is the only place all week I eat a salad at, they have a good ceasar salad and then Dh gets his filet. They have a ravillo dish but it has mushrooms in it, so I go with the salad.

Depending on if the vegetarian entree is something you like (last time i went it was some kind of noodles with fried tofu and veggies with a brown sauce), Ohana can be good for vegetarians and meat eaters. I personally loved the vegetarian entree (which you do have to specifically request and make a note on your reservation that there's a vegetarian to make sure you get it) and my boyfriend loooooooved the turkey and all the rest of the meat as well.

We also really enjoyed San Angel Inn (again, you have to specifically request the vegetarian menu...it's not on the normal menu), but we also both really like Mexican food. If either of your pickiness in eating counts out Mexican food, this wouldn't be for you.

For both Ohana and San Angel Inn though, the vegetarian options are limited (as in there is only one or two choices), so if you don't like the options, you're out-of-luck. You should be able to get at least one vegetarian option at any Disney-run table service restaurant, but in many cases it's just that - one option. I just happen to really enjoy the one option at both Ohana and San Angel Inn.

I second those who have said Boma - it's buffet so you can both try all kinds of things, and there are lots of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

We've both also really enjoyed the Crystal Palace buffet - plenty of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

We are a family of meat-eaters, and my best friend is a vegetarian. We travel to WDW together every year and have never had a problem. Some of our favorites are Boma, Brown Derby, Kona, and Spoodles. Also, buffets like CP and CM seem to have something for everyone.

P.S. The vegetarian options on the menu at Spoodles didn't appeal to my friend when we were there. She talked to the chef and he made her "the best meal she's ever had."
