I grew my first patch of lettuce this year!!! :cool1: I cut some for dinner tonight and the taste is just aweful!!! I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to clean them to get rid of the garden-y taste! Every bite tastes like dirt, I used water and rinsed them, but is there something else I could be doing? Thanks!!! :wave2:

Try storing the lettuce in the fridge (after washing them, of course) over night. I've found the taste mellows down after a short stay in frige.

I was so excited because we grew lettuce for the first time this year................a mesclun mix.

Well, I shouldn't have been so eager for us to eat it. Yuck!!! It was bitter and nasty.
Who knew lettuce could taste so gross??

Needless to say, I am not in a hurry to pick the rest of it.
