Vegas!

Just a note on Bellagio...the last time I was there I did not see it enforced but in the past unless you are a hotel guest strollers are not allowed in the atrium.

Your kids are pretty young so most things I would suggest wont' work...like Gameworks. They might like M&M World, the Lions at MGM. Will you have a rental car? I know how difficult it is traveling with little ones. We have definitely decided that for us there are just some things we won't do that we may want to since we have a little one and that's OK with us since they are only small for a short time.

Will you have other relatives there that would watch the kids so you can have a date night with the hubby?

As a frequent Vegas visitor I only ask that you don't have the kids in strollers walking thru casinos at midnight. ;) Yes I have seen this every trip and it frustrates me every time!

Thanks, we are taking an umbrella stroller for the kids so its easy collapsible. We were planning on walking around the strip, not going into casinos since we have the kiddos. Yes we will have a rental car so we can drive anywhere and not have to lug car seats around in taxi's. As far as date night, that's questionable as noone will committ to babysitting for one night. (they see them once a year as none of our family live in the same state as us). But If they do, we'll go to some casinos and see what shows we like. We really don't drink and are not into dance clubs. Maybe a restaurant (not too pricey since we are on a bugdet and this trip is too expensive for us anyways).

Don't worry kids will be in bed way before midnight. Actually I think we will too. We hardly stay up past 10 nowadays since DD is up by 6 every morning. Who knows if the time change will affect them, if so, they will be up at 3.

I used the quote so you would know this about babies in Vegas.

We go 3 times a year, etc.

Since you have a CAR - Go to Ethel M candy factory - interesting and nice cactus garden to stroll in. There is a good kid's discovery museum downtown (not "downtown strip"- the real downtown. Hoover Dam is interesting and they could toddle around with supervision.

On the strip, Circus Circus has circus acts that might amuse a toddler (free) - the other things cost money and would not be appreciated by a toddler.

For good meals, I recommend the shopping mall inside Planet Hollywood -lots of good restaurants, many medium priced - including Earl of Sandwich. There is a Cheesecake Factory at Ceasars Palace in the mall AND just outside, a HUGE HUGE acquarium that kids (and adults) love - with big big fish. Also a free "animated" statue show - not as good as a Disney show, but lots of water, lights, and action that little kiddos like.

Other than that, I would play in the room or possibly around the pool, but check to see what the pool requirements are. I dont know about baby pools...

Going in 3 weeks for a long weekend. Staying at NYNY with a small group. We enjoy the piano bar and Irish pub at NYNY. The location is good on the South end of the strip. The Deuce buses really take a long time to travel, taxis are expensive but worth it to avoid the hassle of the bus. Walking is a good way to get around if you are in good shape. Everything is very far, even though it looks like it is right next door.
Harrah's is a good place to stay they usually offer pretty good room rates. It is so close to the Mirage and Caesars Palace, which are great casinos with good places to shop, dine and people watch. Harrah's also has a piano bar and another area outside with gambling and music that is a fun place to spend some time.
Another vote for Red Rock Canyon, it really is a beautiful area to visit. I am from the Midwest so the topography is so different from where I live. I rented a car from NYNY for the day, it was well worth the cost to me.
My favorite show is Beatles Love, I enjoyed Ka, but my DH thought it was boring.:confused3 I also loved Sigfried and Roy back in the 90's, not sure there is a show that compares to that.
I love Earl of Sandwich, and we usually eat at Toby Keith's I love this bar at Harrah's too. The Bellagio and Caesar's buffets are both excellent.
Have fun:)

Another vote for seeing Red Rock Canyon, and a thumbs-up to Hoover Dam, especially being able to walk across the (relatively) new bridge and look down on the dam. Pretty amazing, IMO.

We also enjoyed Ethyl M's - loved the fancy displays of chocolate, and the cactus garden was pretty darn neat too (assuming you aren't already familiar with desert landscape, in which case it would probably be a total yawn).

A note for those going without a car - the last time we were there, I was able to pick up a car for about $35 for a day, including taxes, fees and unlimited miles. A day is plenty to see Hoover Dam, and probably a fair chunk of RRC.

If you have more time and don't mind the drive, Valley of Fire is absolutely amazing, IMO. The petroglyphs alone were worth the trip - the rest of that amazing park was icing on the cake. Just don't forget lots of water if you're going in summer! There aren't a whole lot of stores around there, and you get really thirsty walking around in the relentless sun.

For good casinos, I really liked Red Rock the best of all the ones I saw. It's smaller and waaay of the strip (local casino) but I really loved the architecture and stuff. Their buffet was cheap and decent too. For strip casinos, I would probably pass on staying at them. I did look into Cosmopolitan the last time I visited (stayed with family instead) and it was reasonable, fairly centrally located, and looked quite nice.

Another shout out for Fremont Street - they have a zipline there that looked neat! It is definitely an older part of town, and I'd be really careful about wandering off without knowing where you're heading. IMO, it got pretty sketchy in some places not too far from Fremont St. And the video screens there were worth the trip down at night, a neat light show!

Hope you have a great time!

Thank you. The chocolate factory sounds great, and DD loves her sweets. So do I. The kids love aquariums so we'll definately have to check it out. We know we'll spend time at the pool, DD is potty trained so no problem there and DS does not need to go in the pool if he can't with swimmers on. We are staying at the East Side Cannery, that is where the reception is and my BIL got a great group rate there.

We will be there Oct. 11-14 celebrating our 5th ann. Excitd.

We stayed at the Belligio the first time we visited and loved it! We had out 2 year old with us at the time. We found that they were very friendly to our daughter- no problems- but we were staying there.

Becasue you have children might I suggest the Vadara. It is a new all suite hotel in City Center. It is connected to the Belligio via enclosed walkway. It is smoke free and gaming free....so you wouldn't have to worry about your kids in those respects. The extra space of a suite might be nice for your family- and the small kitchen would be a bonus.

We are staying there in oct. and are looking forward to it.
