Just put together a quick trip to Vegas over Valentine's Day weekend. Any suggestions of good, cheap places to eat (and drink!!)? We really only have one night and one full day. One of those nights will be spent on Fremont. Suggestions please!!

Off-Strip anything is likely to be cheaper than restaurants in the major casinos.

All the hotels are really cool to check out. Look on Groupon.com and Livingsocials.com for things in Vegas. The Duece bus is a good bargain. Check out the Pawn Stars shop, but after 3 pm as they film and the line is really long. There are free shows in front of some of the hotels. In the Bellagio they have a conservatory that is camera worthy and then right around the corner in there they have a huge chocolate fountain and Bakery Yummy!!

They have Gondolas inside and outside of the Venetian. So much shopping. Some of the Buffets can be pricey. Their is an Earl of Sandwich in Planet Hollywood. You can find Mcdonalds and what not on the strip. But I like Rio buffet. Not on the strip. Sometime on the sites above you can find some deals for the buffets.

Bring comfy shoes as nothing is as close as it appears.

If you can avoid the strip, do it. Everything is much less expensive off strip, even just a couple of blocks away.

The Las Vegas Advisor website puts out a monthly list of top ten values.

I wouldn't miss the Mob Museum, especially since you're going to be downtown on Fremont St. anyway. Since you have a quick trip, I'd skip the Strip and stay in one of the downtown hotels. The Golden Nugget seems to offer a lot of bang for the buck.

Stay away from the Strip if you dont have much money. Downtown is a good choice. Eating there will save you some money. The buffet at Main Street Station used to be very good. I havent been there in a few years. Also I cant remember which one it is but if you use the bathroom at MSS. You can see some of the Berlin Wall. At least it is in the mens. I understand the Lady Luck has finally reopened under a new name. So that should be pretty good too. The Golden Nugget can be expensive. I have stayed at the 4 Queens and while it was old it was clean. 35 a night when I stayed there. A lot to see and do downtown. Im pretty sure you can catch a shuttle bus from The Freemont and California and ride that to Sams Town and once at Sams catch another Bus to the Strip and drops off at Harrahs. I know this may be time consuming but its free. Booze is free as long as your gambling. If not it can be very pricey. Downtown should be around 4.00 for a Bud and most mixed drinks. The Strip your looking at round 7-8 for a Bud and probably 10-15 for mixed drinks. The Plaza had a great bar the last time I was there. But Like I said its been a few years so things change. The best time to be downtown is at night. Its beautiful when all the light are lit. Any other questions Im sure I can help. Oh and dont walk from DT to the Strip. Its a lot farther than in it looks and it can get very scary at times.

Well, blake29 got me curious so I did a little searching
Rats, the link won't paste. Anyway, Google Sam's Town shuttle to downtown Las Vegas.

Fremont is a blast. You can't beat it at night. The Viva Vision is spectacular. There is also a zip line that you can zip over or under the Viva Vision.
Should you decide to stay at the 4 Queens, request a room under the canopy. Then you can watch the Viva Vision and the crowds. Very entertaining.
The smaller casinos, like the Mermaids, have several cocktail waitresses so the drinks come faster.
Upstairs at The D, they have Vintage Vegas gaming. Coin in, coin out slot machines.
Main Street Station buffet is wonderful. Nice variety and not pricey. You can get a list of the artifacts at Main Street Station, like the Stained Glass window was from where ever and the piece of the Berlin wall I believe is in the upstairs men's room. Very beautiful woodwork and brass throughout.

Go to the strip for breakfast. There are several La Salsas that have a $3.99 breakfast special.

If going to Fremont, the Golden gate casino is a little hole in the wall casino with good cheap eats. The shrimp cocktail is great cheap snack

Have gotten $1500+ in rewards (for a total investment of $58) over 3 years.

BUT OP does not have anywhere near enough time to earn enough points to make it worthwhile. About the most they could earn in 2 weeks is a free drink--and frankly the time it takes to redeem, (and drinks being free while you gamble..) makes that one fairly worthless.
