Vegan's; What Do You Feed Them?

rice, black beans, grilled veggies/peppers, fresh tomato salsa, and gaucamole... Well at least thats what the vegetarians order at work. I doubt a true vegan would eat at qdoba because of all the meats that are also present. But we do provide good choices for those that go meatless/dairyless.

All our salsa contain salt, lime juice, cilantro, jalapenos, and red onions.
... In case there's any one out there that didn't know qdoba offered vegetarian stuff.

Beans are a major part of most vegan diets. So start from there.

The tofutti was recommended to me by a vegan colleague.
I am sure it was vegan...tofutti makes many vegan items. But to someone who is not familiar, they would look and see something such as "soy cheese" and think it is vegan friendly, when in most cases it is not.

You can't do pasta for a true vegan. They use eggs.

Ice Chips. ;) :rolleyes1

My one Vegan g/f likes Boca Burgers, Big Salads with lots of veggies, fruits and nuts.

Should have made that distinction. My walmart, target, whole foods and local health food stores all carry no egg pastas. It's a little softer than traditional pasta but it's still good. Look at asian type noodels as well they have a couple of varieties that are eggless.

(I'm not vegan, just have friends who are)

Ohhhh stop with the food suggestions your making me very hungry!

the only vegans i knew ate only raw, so lots of this stuff wouldn't have even worked for them. :upsidedow

Hm, not sure if I am too late posting or not...just in case I'm not, I have to ask: Do you have time to run to the library? Because if so, you should try checking out the book Veganomicon. I pretty much live off of this book, it's my vegan bible. MOST of the recipes (I've hit a bad one that I didn't care for) are quite palatable and many of them are just downright delicious and very easy to make.

I hate spending a lot of time cooking, or doing complicated recipes, so this book is great!

I love black bean burgers with avocado and salsa, quinoa salads (quinoa is very common), chickpeas, hummus, falafel in pita bread, seitan cutlets (easy recipe in the book I mentioned), tempeh, navy beans...

Really, the possibilities are literally endless. I agree with someone that said it's quite easy cooking food for a vegan, but taking them out to eat is another story. I have a hard time finding something vegan to eat while I am out.
