Veg*n Family First Trip to DisneyWorld

Here's another helpful link:

I am veg, not vegan, but I can make a few suggestions. Tangierine Cafe in the Moroccan pavilion in Epcot is a must-do. Can't wait to go back there.

Jiko in AKL has a vegetarian menu: http://allears.net/menu/menu_jikoveg.htm

Brown Derby has a phenomenal tofu/noodle dish. I don't generally like tofu, and I'm telling you, this was to-die-for. I think the tofu/noodle dish at Kona is similar, and Kona has a friendlier price-point. ;)

Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge has this: Potato Chive Pot Stickers with edamame, spinach and soy vinaigrette . This was fantastic. I would check to make sure it's totally vegan, but I don't recall there being any cheese. Who knows, though, they might put milk in with the potato mixture. Call ahead and it could be made vegan if it's not already.

Kaki Gori at Epcot is a great suggestion! As is a pretzel & beer in Germany!

I LOVE that WDW is so accomodating to different diets. You will have a great time!

Thanks again everyone, and thanks for the direction Cheshire Figment. My daughter has a heart condition and I have found your informative posts in the disAbilities forum very helpful.

I have a list of our CS meals we want to eat, Colombia Harbor House first :D and we have reservations at Boma, Princess Breakfast, and Brown Derby. I may try to squeeze in SciFi or 50's prime time too.

Thank you all again for the help. We have a fridge in our room and I am bringing my Vita Mix, we will be having our daily smoothies and if we are still hungry after the parks I can whip up soup in the blender too. I don't think we will go hungry, that is for sure :flower3:

Not sure if I'm chiming in here too late or not, but you can email Brenda Bennett at special diets and she will send you a ton of info about dairy and egg free (not sure about vegetarian stuff, since we deal with food allergies) stuff in the parks (what's safe and what's not; which restaurants/shops carry which safe items, etc). Her email address is Brenda.Bennett@disney.com I'd definitely email her and tell her your diet needs. She should send you some very helpful info. Also, if you haven't already done so, you should have your special diet info noted on your dining reservations. Call the dining line and have them note the milk intolerance as well as the vegan diet. HTH! --Katie

Thanks, I will see if I can get in contact with Brenda. We do have it noted in our reservations about the allergies, but they said they can't really do anything about the no meat thing?

Our dairy allergy is the most severe, my DD and I are allergic to casein and whey - hives, breathing, stomach issues, we both have epi pens. Plus we are lactose intolerant. Not fun at all.

Again, thanks for the tips - we have internet even on the drive down so I get to DIS the whole way there!
