Are VCRs available in rooms at AKL? We are going down this week for our anniversary and it is kind of a tradition for us to watch our wedding video on our anniv. We can of course watch it before/after we go but it would be nice if we could keep up the tradition. If they are not in the rooms is it possible to rent one?

I'm sorry I can't answer your question regarding AKL but I can tell you that they are not at any other Disney property I've stayed at which have been mostly value and mods. We stayed in POR last year and wanted to playback the tapes we had recorded but we couldn't reach the A/V jacks in the back of the TV and the TV was screwed down to the armoire so we couldn't get it to budge! We called the front desk, they sent maintenance to our room and they drilled a hole in the back of the armoire so we could hook our cords up through it. Talk about pixie dust! I'd say that was above and beyond! :wizard:
Anyway, I've never seen them for rent either, I just don't think based on my own experience that it's an option unless you bring your own. If you do, hopefully they will have better accessible jacks on the TV then they did at POR.

I believe the only VCR (or DVD) players are in the DVC rooms

No but you can rent one from www.abbf.com. They deliver right to your hotel. All sorts of cool stuff! We rented a wagon - the kids LOVED it!

Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary.

During one of our AKL stays, I ordered a VCR for our suite through the concierge. Disney used an outside service for the rental and it was charged to my room (the concierge handled all the arrangements for me -- I just gave them my credit card information).

When my family checked in, Disney had someone deliver the VCR and hook it up for us. When we checked out, they handled the rental return for us. It was very simple.

I wonder what the rental charge is? Can't you get a VCR for about $50 these days? Might be worth picking up a cheapie and taking it along. :earsboy:
