VB Upkeep Observations

I was very surprised last week by how poorly some areas of VB are maintained. The common areas of the inn seem to be kept up very well. But once, you get to the Villas, there is some definite need for paint. And once inside the Villas, the conditions are much worse. I was very surprised by banged-up and scratched walls, torn upholstery on the furniture, missing doorknobs, and ants galore in the kitchen (even after we had the unit sprayed). The dryer never worked in my sister-in-law's unit and worked about 50% of the time in our unit.

Wow. That sounds like a mess. We were there last October and stayed in a 2 bedroom in building 12 and our unit was in great shape. We had none of the problems you mentioned. We did notice a few areas in front of our unit that needed a bit of a touch up. Hopefully they are in the process of refurbishing the rooms and you stayed in one that hasn't been updated yet.

Wow! Sorry your unit(s) were not up to par.

We were in a 2 bedroom unit from 11/29 -12/2 and everything was in very good condition. Can't say I noticed anything that needed updating, painting or repair. We used the washer/dryer several times and also the whirlpool tub with no problems. It was very slow (I think there were many empty units), so maybe we were assigned a room that had been recently refurbished.

Hope your next trip to a DVC resort is better.
