We are hoping to bring some family to VB in 2013 after a cruise. We were there in 2011 and the room looked like it had a soft goods update. But the bathroom was very outdated. I know that resort is nearing 20 years old like OKW. Has anyone heard of a complete renovation for VB in the near future?

Nothing announced at last years Annual meeting. But with the OKW refurb they didn't update the bathrooms so it's hard to say if they would at VB either.

Thanks. I didn't realize that they didn't update the bathrooms at OKW. Is that true of other DVC remodels? Is that a DVC trend?

OKW was supposed to be a 100% renovation, but it wound up being about 80% renovation because they spent too much on design and other stuff. Like the roman shades in the living room that are miserable to operate.

That's unfortunate. I have not been to OKW, but I assume after 20 years, most bathrooms need updating. Did the kitchens get redone?

There haven't been any other renovations a extensive as OKW so it's the only thing to go off of.

New counter tops but the cabinets were left the same. I think appliances were left the same too but weren't originals.

Thanks for the info! I read somewhere that beach club villas were in the renovation design phase. Let's hope they don't blow the budget on design instead of materials!

I hope whoever picks the colors for the bathrooms does a better job. My opinion and it's only my opinion the bathroom colors and tile at OKW and BWV are lacking. That's being polite....

I get theming but the tyke styles and color say cheap and tacky to me!

Now, I love the peach and green at OKW and the pickled wood (that isn't pickled any more).

I did not like the pink tiles at VB. They look dated. If they used white tiles and accented with a few pink tiles, I think you would get a nice understated effect instead of an overwhelming granny looking pink. Just my opinion.

I agree about the bathrooms needing an update. I think the Green Cabin Room could use some love, too. It's starting to feel dark and dingy.

They did a great job on the HHI beachouse. Everything seemed bright and new. They used nice wood look tiles in the bathrooms on the floor.
