We are headed to Vero Beach 4/5-4/12 with a van full of kids. We are trying to take as little as possible. We are wondering if we can check out a football/soccer ball etc for free?
The Vero Beach Devil Rays baseball team will be at home during the time you are there. The VB D-Rays are high class A affilliate of the St Pete Rays major league baseball club.
The games are not free but darn close to it. An adult ticket is $6 and children are $5. Kids under 5 are admitted free.
Seeing the Vero Beach baseball stadium is worth the price of admission, it's a throwback to 1940's. "Holman Stadium is the only minor league stadium to boast a facility without any covered dugouts. The players sit on aluminum benches in the dugout area. The unique feature makes Holman Stadium one of the most fan-friendly complexes in all of baseball."
I think the OP means checking out sports equipment from Eb and Flow's. To be honest I'm not sure if you can. I'm leaning towards no they don't have that kind of equipment, but someone else might know for sure.

OMG, thanks for sharing this info!! This is the first I've heard about single A club nearby. We often go to either Bowie's Baysox or Frederick Keys baseball games. They aren't as cheap as VB's! Ok, this goes on my list!
We will be there on Friday so I'll check it out and report back if someone else hasn't already done so!
I don't think you can "rent" footballs, soccer balls, etc. They sell tennis balls in the gift shop - we bought some last year. They have a Mickey on them!

No problem. Until recently Vero Beach was the winter and spring training home of the LA Dodgers. During the summer the VB Dodgers played in Florida State League games. The entire baseball complex is known as Dodgertown. Lots of streets named for the all time greats of the Brooklyn and LA teams.
