VB at 7 month mark for summer?

How hard has it been to obtain an OVIR at the 7 month mark for summer? Anyone had poor luck getting it? What about the infamous beach cottage? Any luck or no luck?

We currently own at VB but with the new alignment, we're short 1 pt. for our 3 year consolidation of pts to get the beach cottage. I really don't want more points there. We will plan to do OVIR with our other points if it's not normally a problem and save the others for 5 nights every 3rd year to allow us to invite relatives.

I know it's subjective based on the week, but we would have a 7 week window that we'd be open to going in the OVIR so I'm just looking for past experiences if anyone would share theirs.

You have a very good chance. Summer is not peak for VB.

We're not going until August 23 but we were able to get one this year at 7 months...was it luck? Maybe. Was it just that it's just at the very end of the summer and FL schools have already started back? Probably. Is it that it's almost at the height of hurricane season? Could be.

I got a week at Vero over 4th of July week at the 7 month mark. I called at exactly 9AM 7 months prior to check in. I was surpised that there was availability. I had several weeks over the summer that would have worked but on the first available day to call I got the reservation. I am excited to try a new place!

We got in for the last week in June @ 7 months..but couldn't get a 1BR, took an OVIR for 3 of us.

We are also going this August 23. Called the day the seven month window opened, and had no trouble booking a one bedroom.

I was able to get a 2bd at the 7th month mark for Aug. 9.-11. Good Luck

Thank you all! I'm feeling better already! I have a broad window so hopefully it won't be an issue. We just love VB but the idea of having more pts. at that resort isn't at the top of my list right now! Especially since we've got spares at other resorts we can use! Thanks again!
