We're trying to figure out how many points we'll be needing for our 2005 visit to VB. What are the differences between a Inn room(oceanview), a studio, and a 1 bdrm.? I know the diff. as far as room size goes, but if we would be thinking about a studio, would we be as well off just getting an Inn room with an ocean view? I can't seem to find anything that describes the diff. between these two types of accom.

Ocean view inn rooms are located in the main building, have two queen size beds (rooms 2415 and 2419 have a king bed and a sleeper sofa), and a kitchenette (bar sink, microwave, undercounter refrigerator). Studios are located in the villa buildings, have a queen size bed and a sleeper sofa, and a similar kitchenette. Points costs are the same. The ocean view rooms all have views of the ocean :). Most of the studios have views of landscaping unless you're on the top floor with an eastern view, since there is a large sand dune along the beach with a lot of vegatation that blocks the view of the ocean unless you get up higher.

One bedrooms are all located in the villas and share views with the studios. These have the usual DVC one bedroom features: full kitchen, washer/dryer, whirlpool tub, higher point cost than the studios, etc.

We stayed in a studio during our first two visits to VB. Our last three visits have been in ocean view inn rooms (points are the same; there is the option of a garden view inn room at lower points). Twice, we've stayed in room 2415 with the king bed/sleeper sofa combo. This works particularly for us, since there are only the two of us, but a family might prefer the two queen beds of the other ocean view inn rooms to the queen bed/sleeper combo in the studios.

FYI,

Sometimes they substitute garden view inn rooms for studios.

We had a studio booked for MIL and they put her in a GV inn room.

I would go for the inn ocean view room because then you are guaranteed a view of the ocean.

Thank-you so much. Just what I was looking for. Looks like we'll try the ocean view room.

...
Was this a points stay or cash stay for your MIL's room? I ask because the points for a garden view inn room are less than for a studio while points for studios and ocean view inn rooms are the same. Cash reservations (including cash reservations with the 25% members discount applied) are different in that the cash rates for studios and garden view inn rooms are the same while ocean view inn room cash rates are higher. This has always struck me as somewhat inconsistent.
