If anyone can answer any of these it would be appreciated.....

-Where in London can I drop a rental car off and catch the Eurorail to go through the channel tunnel without a transfer?

-Is $120 USD a good deal to go from London to Paris on the train?

-Is it hard to learn to drive on the opposite side of the road? (I'm very nervous about this)

Thank you for any advice/help you can give. :goodvibes

Can only help with driving question.
I enjoy driving on the other side of the road while in France, so I'm sure you'll be fine :)

As far as I know there aren't any rental car services at Waterloo station. Since London introduced a charge to drive into the city you do not see so many cars. Most people tend to use cabs.

Is this to Paris itself or Disneyland?

I personally have never driven abroad but DH has and always says it is much better in a hire car as the steering wheel is on the correct side for the country you are in! :rotfl2:

I was going to hire a car while in Inverness and then take it all the way to London. It will be difficult to hire a taxi for the five of us and I really hate to split up. If we have to we will. I wonder is there is anywhere else that we could drive from to go to Disneyland Paris. This all seems so complicated. I really want to make it as easy as possible.

Disneyland

All London black cabs have seating for 5 passengers. The alternative is to drive to Ashford and join the Eurostar there.

I forgot to ask what the $120 was for? Is it for a one-way adult fare?

Great info. Again thank you!

$120 is adult fair.

I've always had no probs driving on the other side of the road, either in continental Europe or U.S.. However, a couple of other things you might want to take note of coming from U.S. to England:

If you're used to driving an automatic, unless you specifically request it you'll get a manual (stick shift).

The gear shift is generally inbetween the driver and passenger seat rather than on the steering column

The parking brake (handbrake) is also generally between the seats rather than a pedal

Roads are generally smaller and people drive faster than the U.S.

Roundabouts are everywhere - much more common than 4-way junctions as in the U.S.

Hope this is of use

Every time I go on the Eurostar website I seem to come up with different prices LOL but I would say $120 seems reasonable. I have seen an adult standard fare for as little as approx £42 and an adult leisure select fare (you get a better seat and a meal served to you) for approx £120. There are lots of tickets priced between the two so I do not think $120 is a ridiculous price to pay.
