I have some questions, can you please assist?

Is the Mickey slide for kids only?

Where should we stay the night prior to sailing? Should we stay at some place that will park the car for us or should we park the car at port?

Should we take our kids life jackets?

What time should we arrive to check in? Is there a good reason for being there super early or should we check in right before sailing? (I am thinking we could hang out in the area for the day instead of hanging out in the lobby waiting.)

Is there any reasonably priced accomadations in the area? FIL wants to stay someplace cheap while we are sailing so that he can go to WDW with us? Maybe I should have him fly in on the last day?

Thanks!

Hi, I will try to answer some of your questions!

Yes, the Mickey slide is only for kids. Too bad!!

We stayed at the Radisson a couple weeks ago when we cruised. Very nice pool and breakfast is included. They also let you park your car there while on the cruise. They will shuttle you to the terminal and back (the bus was waiting for us when we got off the ship). I think we paid $129 a night.

No need to bring the kids life jackets. They are provided in your stateroom.

As for when to arrive at the terminal, that is up to you. We got to the termninal around 10:30 and there was a fairly good line to wait in. We just liked being there.....to start the magic a bit early. WE boarded about noon and then spent the afternoon eating and enjoying the ship.

Have a great trip :Pinkbounc

Just got back on Saturday - I'll see if I can help:

Yes

Popular places mentioned on the board are the Radisson and Ron Jon's. Both will let you park - although I think Radisson's is part of a cruise package, while Ron Jon's just let's you park for free. Parking at the cruise terminal will run about $70 and must be paid up front.

Should we take our kids life jackets?
No - They have life jackets for all sizes including infants.

I recommend getting there as early as possible - like at 10:00 am. That way the lines are minimal and you will be on board by noon and can enjoy the buffet, tour the ship and your kids can spend the day swimming!!

He's looking to stay in Port Canaveral for the week or Orlando??

In case you're speaking of swimming/snorkeling life jackets...They are available at Castaway Cay for water activities there...If you love your flotation device take it but they take up SO much suitcase room! The ones at Castaway Cay are solid foam, dark blue...Mine made me feel like a can of soda in a drink holder.... I put my own stylish inflatable on on later but it wasn't up to the task of holding up both me as well as a 115 pound panicked dog...

I'm not sure that they are provided at all water excursions...Hope that helps.
