Vandals

:thumbsup2 That's great to know I've just been looking at the food porn thread to get an idea of what they serve and it looks mouth watering good. Have to eat before I look next time;) Do they have a dress code like "business casual" or anything or with t-shirts and shorts be okay? We'll be taking DS too our plans will include a decent choice of menus for him too, I'm going to try to get earlier dinner ADRs when the time comes or Ds will get too tired to eat much.
How have people found CP for Dinner lately?? We were considering LTT but they are scrapping the Characters at that meal next year.

Just found this on the WDW website... ;)

Yachtsman Steakhouse Dress Code Guidelines:

Men: Khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts, collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.
Ladies: Capris, skirts, dresses, jeans, dress shorts.

NOT permitted in dining room: Tank tops, swimwear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing. While t-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics are not acceptable...

:thumbsup2 Oh thanks for that I'd hate to offend anyone by dressing incorrectly.

I usually wear a knee length skirt /shorts (not daisy dukes don't have the legs for them ;) ) and a decent new t-shirt or blouse and DH and DS wear either t-shirts or polo shirts (collars down I hate to se them up) and shorts. Our footwear is usually comfy sandals or trainers but I'll sort out decent footwear before we go:thumbsup2

 5.15 am .. A malicious half wit has cut our aerial cables an our sky cable this morning as DH was sat watching tv before he left to get to work:scared1: They must have been ducked under our front room window but they took the pieces of cables with them! Thank goodness the aerial into DS's room is still intact. Now I'm going to have to get the cables booked in to be re-done :headache: I think I'll ask them to put them through the wall higher up this time.
Honestly our neighbourhood has gone really down hill in the last 6 months:sad2:

I'm in Canada but I have experience in installing cable TV,Satellite TV and Antenna wiring.
My first question is, is the dish or antenna on the roof ?
Can the cable entry point be at a height where they would need an extension ladder or a pogo stick to reach the cables?
Are you capable of running the coax cable to the various points through out the house yourself(is this permissible in the UK)?
It sounds like they are not just vandalizing for the sake of vandalism....but they are removing sections of wire so that they can re-sell it for the copper wire value (which is at an all time high right now). Here in Canada there are stories of vandals and thieves breaking into electrical sub-stations and actually cutting out and removing electrical wiring from transformers....while its still live !:scared1:
I did all the wiring for my cableTV,Satellite and antenna wiring in my own house. The only exposed wire is way up at roof height and the cable enters the house under the eavestrough making it way out of reach of vandals etc.
Hope you can get you TV systems up and running soon ......with the wiring out of sight !

What a nightmare for you!, there's absolutely no deterent these day's for what these mindless idiot's do  , we go to work and pay our taxes and take pride in our homes, and then these mindless yobs do things like this :confused3 . Hope you manage to get it all sorted

What a horrid thing to do and why????? Also very strange they were up so early, or were they just going back home? :headache:

:sad2:  Mindless morons. What pleasure can these idiots get from destroying people's hard-earned property?

Hope you get it sorted

We have now had the digital aerial cable replaced the engineer came yesterday 3.30p.m. while I was at work. DH:love: sorted everything out with him so that the cable now comes from the aerial on the chimney down the roof(tacked to the tiles to reduce wear) down the back wall and in the dining room, then through the house inside to the t.v. The guys even removed the cable they could reach for the Sky dish which is 3/4 of the way up the back wall on the opposite side to our extension:thumbsup2 The Sky engineer who is due between 2 and 4 p.m. will need a good set of long ladders to reach it, it's not far from the top of DS's bedroom window. Then it's just a case of rewiring the LNB and routing the cable next to the aerial cable and in through a pre-drilled hole (also done yesterday) and through the house. Hopefully we should get sorted out by tonight and have less chance of the vandals wrecking the cables again. Thanks for the support everyone I know I can count on you all in a crisis:grouphug:

glad you got it sorted and dealt with it with such a positive attitude.

I cant beleive how destuctive people are these days, there just is no logic to what they did.

What are they doing out at 5am with nothing better to do? That;'s what gets me. We live behind a petrol station and regularly have idiots in there at 6am, the place isn't even open at that time either. I hope that you get everything sorted at minimal cost and inconvenience to you.

The Sky engineer used to work "down south" and moved up here recently so he told DH. There was lots of cable thefts going on there apparently.. surely the copper can't be worth that much:eek:
He got the new cable sorted out for us very quickly he arrived at 3.30 p.m. and gone by 4.15p.m. Now we are considering finding a metal cover to protect the cables where they are exposed to reduce any chances of to them. Might have to try B&Q there's one down the street:thumbsup2

Hi, So glad you got it sorted:thumbsup2 , what idiots to do such a thing:confused3:mad: , now have fun planning your holiday:yay: , take care:hug:

Glad you got it sorted....the idiot has been used a few times......thats what I felt like one day because of giving somone like that the benefit of the doubt

a while back

at midnight, I heard a areosol being shaken, looked out bedroom window and saw 2 youths in hoods, no older than 12 walking up the Crescent shaking a can, I didn't see them do anything so gave them the benefit in a society with, apparently, is all eager to stereo type youths.

In the morning

my car had been sprayed
3 garages had the handles broken off
2 walls had been vandalised
a Security light ripped off the wall
and 4 bus shelters had been smashed on the main road

you could literally follow the path of mindless vandalism

This is in a an area not associated with trouble, in a crescent of a leafy suburb well away from main roads. Phoned the police who said they had a good idea who did it and been after them for a while but cannot prove anything.

OMG:hug: I hope you get something sorted out from this, it really makes my blood boil to think theses people have no respect for others and only want to indulge themselves in stupid acts of vandalism and violent behaviour:mad:

The police seem to have their hands tied by the government but a "free ride society" certainly isn't helping. I'm so sick of hearing youths brag about their exploits and awful behaviour all moral values seem to cease to exist among them. Personally I'd like to see the faces of those idiots printed and their disgraceful behaviour announced, I think they would soon be outcasts, and everything they hold dear should be taken from them. Thank goodness not all of society is as small minded, greedy or self centred I do know some kids who still respect their community and their families. Sending you some pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: to help you get through this:hug:
