 5.15 am .. A malicious half wit has cut our aerial cables an our sky cable this morning as DH was sat watching tv before he left to get to work:scared1: They must have been ducked under our front room window but they took the pieces of cables with them! Thank goodness the aerial into DS's room is still intact. Now I'm going to have to get the cables booked in to be re-done :headache: I think I'll ask them to put them through the wall higher up this time.
Honestly our neighbourhood has gone really down hill in the last 6 months:sad2:

thats awful :sad2: hope you manage to get it sorted:hug:

 I think we'll ask Sky to put the cable through the back of the house again like it was a few years ago . The aerial will probably have to be at the front of the house again unless I can sweet talk them into running it from the back into our dining room and around the skirting boards into the front room again. Actually that might work better now I think about it, even if we have to put it under the carpets it's still better that leaving them at risk again. I dread to think what it's going to cost us thank goodness I am doing a little bit of overtime this week I just hope it doesn't cut into the holiday savings too badly. I'll ring someone about it once I've got DS to school this morning.

We have an idea or two about who it could have been but we are not sinking to their level, all I want to say is there are too many unemployed drunken idiots in the area with anger issues.

We are not using the house insurance to pay for it either as our premiums have already risen to a shocking rate this year, our insurer was still the cheapest for us so we'll stay with them again for now.

Why on earth would someone do that ? :confused3 :confused3 Sorry to hear about this, there really are some idiots around

That's awful - hope it doesn't cost you too much to get it fixed.

That is awful.

Which part of the North East do you live?

That is terrible :sad2: hope you get it sorted quickly

Shocking, I've never heard of anyone doing that before.

Hope you get it sorted quickly:)

Some people are just idiots.... I have another word, but the DIS would filter it!

This is awful, I hope its not going to become a new trend for these idiots that have nothing better to do. I hope you manage to get it sorted out quickly and at not to much expence.

Have you reported it to the police? I know they wont be able to do much but it will make them aware of what is happening in your area and you may discover you are not the first.

Sending you a:hug:

:sad2: I have not rang the police it would be a waste of time...it's a perpetual problem here due to certain elements of the community shall we say. The police are powerless to do anything about it without witnesses etcetera
Until the local council remove said problem families it will just continue unfortunately:rolleyes1 It's not the worst thing to have happened a while ago an old church was set on fire (the police never found out who did it) and had to be demolished then the council the sold off the land to a property developer it's now the site of several pokey little houses even smaller than ours which isn't huge.

DH rang Sky this morning it's going to cost £65 to rewire the dish tomorrow any time up to 5.30p.m. I rang a local aerial installer they quoted £52.88 all inclusive for a repair they are due to send an engineer to rewire the aerial today also any time up to 5.30p.m. That's not bad for same day service, I explained why we wanted the job done and they said it should be fine to have the cable routed through the rear of the house thank goodness. Just hope they turn up before I go to work :scared: Just thinking with any luck we'll get sorted out by Thursday and get back to our holiday plans.

Forgot to say there are 4 other homes that have had their cables cut in our street in a block of about 20 houses none after that ours is the only one where they have taken about 3 or 4 feet of cable away it's very odd.

Sorry to hear this - how horrible! :sad2: Glad you can get it sorted...

Thanks everyone I'm trying to stay positive here, which is usually not too hard to do, it's just hard at the moment with being at work for longer today and tomorrow and DH not getting home until late.

Thank goodness DS's t.v. could still get a good picture, he woke at 6.20 a.m. so I let him have breakfast in his room watching his favourite shows before he got ready for school and told him we would try to get this sorted out before the weekend.

Now it's just a case of waiting for the engineers to get the repairs done;)

What a horrible thing to do, i'm glad you are able to get it sorted.

Maybe they are going to use it to hang themselves :rotfl2: ,

Glad to hear you can get it sorted out today though, unfortunatley you could have spent the money on something much more deserving. Hurry up and get back to your planning its bound to chear you up.:)

:rotfl2: Funny you should mention hanging things the council are lopping off lower branches from the trees near our house, yet the hedge is left alone and it's over 7 feet high;)

You are right our holiday needs more planning I could have used that money to pay off our balance or used up a bit of it on our family tree costs, we've just had to buy a birth record from Scotland for one elusive relative to try to find out who his parents were there is no one left to ask about him. It cost £10 to purchase it and we'll still need to wait 3 weeks before we find out if it's the correct one.

Any way back on track I'm off to read the restaurant reviews for Yatchsman's Steakhouse (and a couple of other places) for possible anniversary dinners next year. Any reviews are welcome from you guys and girls as usual feel free to tell me what you thought of it. It will keep me busy 'til the engineer gets here.

I am sorry to hear this, and hope they can sort it out the way you want it today. There are some complete mindless idiots around now-a-days.We have one of these 'said' family's you talk about next to me+i wish+hope that the council would evict them, our street would be a much nicer, quieter, brat+mother(well if you can call her a mother) free zone.x.
Let usknow how it goes, take care-just think of your holiday.x.

Great positive attitude!!! :thumbsup2 And if it helps, we've never had a bad experience at the Yachtsman - lovely food and lovely staff... :goodvibes It's got a more intimate feel than a lot of the WDW restaurants so good for an Anniversary meal...
