Anyone else booked this? Our family is officially booked for the 3 night pre-Alaskan Vancouver trip. We are SO excited, particularly about the ziplining and suspension bridge.

We've done the ABD Australia in the past and it was so unbelievable. I know this will be a great add-on to our Alaskan cruise.

Love to chat with anyone else who is doing this or thinking of doing it! I have 2 boys, who will be 9 and 11 on this trip.

I'm not cruising to Alaska, but I looked this pre-trip over, and I think it looks like a really great trip. I think you're in for a great time!

Looking forward to a report when you get back!

If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost to add the pre-trip?

Thanks,

Lisa

We plan on taking an Alaskan cruise in a couple yrs & wanted to tour Vancouver b4hand. The ABD tour is perfect! Can't wait to book it!

I've been to all the attractions included in the Vancouver ABD and they are all great! Stanley Park is one of the most beautiful parks I've seen, the aquarium has great displays (even did the beluga encounter 2 summers ago), Grouse Mt. is really pretty and Capilano Bridge was quite an experience! So if you are thinking about it, doing it with ABD is a wonderful thing! :)

I can't seem to find the Vancouver pre-trip add-on to the Alaskan Wonder cruise. Where is the link for this, please?

Huh. You're right. I can't find it, either. I found the pre-cruise Rocky Mountaineer packages on the DCL site, but I can't find the pre-cruise Vancouver ABD. I wonder what happened. I'll give ABD a call tomorrow & see if I can find out the details. :confused3

The pre-cruise Vancouver ABDs were cancelled. I guess bookings weren't strong enough for them. I don't recall where I saw the news, but I think it was somewhere on the Cruise Board.

As far as I know, those are the only cruise tie-in ABDs that were cancelled. The Alaska cruise ABDs are still a go and the Mediterranean cruise and pre-cruise Barcelonas are still a go.

The attractions are easily navigable if you wish to do it on your own. They are also near each other like the aquarium is in Stanley Park and the Capilano Bridge and Grouse Mt. are close to each other.

I can't say I'm terrifically surprised, as they waited so long to announce the add-ons that a lot of people probably already had their flights to Vancouver arranged, and not for an extra 3 days in Vancouver before-hand.

With the Med, I can see more people having made arrangements to fly into Barcelona a few days early, as well as all the Europeans who are cruising, who probably don't need to purchase their airfare as far in advance...

To be honest, I liked the idea of it, but the cost was more than the cruise itself. We decided to do those things on our own.

I had to call DCL about something yesterday and was told that there is an ad-on POST cruise that includes the suspension bridge tour. I believe you can only book it on board the Wonder during the cruise.

Yes, I believe that's a DCL excursion for debarkation day that they are offering only with onboard booking. I do not believe it's ABD. They're doing the same thing in Barcelona, post-Med-cruise; offering a couple of excursions there on debarkation day, onboard booking only. I really, REALLY wish they'd done that last year! I really enjoyed doing the Hop-on/Hop-off bus with my friends, but the 3 of us doing a DCL excursion would have been MUCH easier & less stressful.

It looks like they are also offering pre- and post-stay Vancouver DCL excursions for people who booked their pre- or post-stay hotel through DCL.

Didn't even think about ABD for Vancouver - will have to look into it!

Actually, they got rid of the pre-cruise ABD for Vancouver. We're assuming it just didn't sell well. It may have been because of the fact that the add-on was announced *WAY* after people had already booked the cruise and their flights.
