Valuing my BWV vs BLT points

I just thought this was interesting.

I calculated each room based on maintenance fees, as well as availability. It appears that it is best to book BWV std rooms with BWV points. I will always want to stay at BWV std rooms and I value my BWV points higher than my BLT points.

BLT points are seemingly Jess "premium", at least to me. I'm ambivalent about staying in a std room at BLT, and will likely use my BLT points at the 7 mo mark.

I'm wishing I had SSR points to play with on the 7 mo mark instead of BLT!!!

What do other ppl feel/do if they have more than one resort?

When all the DVC resorts are sold out, booking at the 7 month mark will get harder and harder to get. And getting a standard view at BWV will be even more difficult to get as many BWV owners agree with your point of view. Personally I use my BLT points mainly at BLT. I would say if you really feel that way about your BLT points, why not sell the BLT points, you can probably get most of your money back if you purchased them in 2009 and then buy more BWV points.

Lol. I bought BWV in 2011, and BLT in February of this year. Both contracts were bought at very decent prices.

I do want to stay at BLT, but mainly in 1 or 2 bds, and likely the lake view (I don't want to chance a first floor room... ). So I'm rethinking my decision here... Was having BLT as a home really necessary?

Perhaps I'm having buyers remorse ... And wishing I bought the SSR points instead of BLT, especially if I'm going to trade out my BLT points consistently.

I bought at BWV and stay there probably 50% of the time, always boardwalk view (love it...). I have stayed at all the WDW DVC resorts except SSR plus VGC. BLT is great for location but the studios are very small. Had no problem getting a lake view for early March 2013. I've always got what I wanted at exactly 7 months.

This year I used out BLT points for a NYE vacation. I've seen the NYE fireworks at MK and Epcot from many vantage points, but this year, we'll see them from TTOTW. You need to be staying there to see them Dec 30 & 31!

It is true that when I am booking at 7 months, I see if I have any SSR points to use. I never feel like I have to book SSR at 11 months. We stayed at the treehouses a couple of times, will not pay the extra points for that privilege now that they raised the cost.

We own most of our pts at VWL, have always valued them highly in regards to the great trips they have provided, not only the many at VWL in early Dec, which is still a hard ticket without the 11 mos window. But also 1 beds at OKW a few times, a quick trip to AKL once, SSR a couple times, BCV once for DW to do the Marathon, BWV once before we bought pts there, and BLT twice, which oddly for me, I love, as I am more the woodsy not modern feel kinda guy, and be able to share with family.

Our other few pts we own are at BWV, and we value those as well. Being able to book F&W fest time at 11 mos, a walk away from 2 parks.

For us, we value each pt and squeak every bit out of em we can, but we will juggle them, try to make best case scenario work in our favor. Without getting into it, we love some resorts better than others, but each resort offers us some unique stays we otherwise couldnt afford. In other words, I love my DVC!

We own at OKW and BWV. We love the laid back feel of OKW when we take a relaxed minimum park time trip. We also use those points at 7 months to try other resorts. Our BWV points are used for F&W and F&G. I value them equally.

lol. Thx everyone. I just got BLT (initial offer December, points loaded in February, this year) and am planning a trip in January... The 7 mo mark. Given the crazy increase in price for BLT, I'm just going to be happy we have it.

I just really, really want to buy SSR to use on the 7 mo mark but hubby said no more points!!

I shall learn to value all my points equally in time

Remember that BLT is valid for 18 years longer than BWV, so there is more value in it.
