Staying at POP first ever value stay in June. From reading the various threads on here I am seeing that the bus cues are not covered. So you have to wait in line out in the elements whatever they may be. This is not how it is at the other resorts we have stayed at, in fact there are not cues at all. Then I think I read somewhere that for charging privileges they only allow you to charge upto 500 and then you have to put cash on your account. Very surprising, for our other stays we have upto 1500 on our key. I just find it interesting at how different value guests are treated on these two issues.

This is all correct. But Disney does need to provide reasons for guests to want to upgrade to moderates or deluxes.

Are you aware that Pop Century is one of only two resorts that doesn't either share buses or have multiple bus stops? I think that's a great advantage over even deluxe resorts. Except for AKL they all share buses.

The walk to the busses at all resorts and most of the areas in the actual parks aren't covered. We've stayed at both Mods and Values but never found it to be a problem. You need to be prepared for a shower ANY day you're at Disney and you should always have on sunscreen. Beyond that, it's hardly as if the "elements" mean you're exposed to a North Dakota Winter.

Regarding the charges of only $500, you can pay it off as it reaches from $500 on a cedit card & then charge it back up to $500.

Well, there may not be queues at say, Port Orleans - but at the Value resorts there's not that "mad rush" to board the bus as it pulls up. You know, the one where Guests who've been waiting for fifteen minutes are out-maneuvered by Guests running up at the last minute...

And it's not that Value Guests can only charge up to $500 to their rooms and then have to put cash on the room charge. It's that the limit at one time is relative to the level of resort where one is staying. Guests paying $500 a night for their room would reasonably be able to have a higher charging limit on their room card at a given time. Guests paying $89 a night for their room - not so much.

Guests reaching or nearing whatever their resort's limit is can simply visit the Front Desk/Lobby Concierge and have another $500 or whatever charging ability authorized to their room key.

It's $500 (or $1,000 or $1,500) at one time - not total for the stay.

I agree. I like the bus queues at the values.
At the values each main park has its own queue. (Some parks do share with DTD or a water park ). But this means at any given time 3 or 4 buses can pull up and load guests at the same time. It makes transporting guests much more efficient.

I do wish WDW would find a way to provide shade for those waiting in the queues. Are you listening WDW execs? We want shaded queues at the values!

Here are photos of a couple of the bus stop types:

Have fun at WDW!

TDC Nala- I don't think Coronado Springs shares buses. So that would make 3 resorts (AKL, Pop and CSR) that don't share buses. Cheers!

Correct, CSR does not share buses and has covered waiting areas at all 4 stops. All the waiting areas have soda machines, water fountains and newspaper machines (except for bus stop #1).

I'd like a bus stop shelter to be provided at the value resorts, and queues to be provided at the other resorts. I don't like the mad rush there is to board a bus w/o the queue.

Shelter + a queue = the best of both worlds for the bus stops. :thumbsup2

I think TDC Nala was referring to fact that Pop and AKL only has 1 bus stop.

There are a few others that don't share buses but have multiple stops.
All of the Mods have multiple stops.
CBR has 7 stops on their loop.
Port Orleans has 5 stops first stop POFQ then the bus continue the loop for 4 more stops at POR ( sister resort- which is technically part Port Orleans resort )
CSR has 4 stops on their loop.

BTW when the Villas at AK are finished there will be 2 stops on the AK loop-AKL and AKV.
If they ever finish the other half of Pop;
Pop will have 2 stops but even though half of Pop will be called Ledgendary years and the other half Century they will still be part of the same resort.

Just my 2 cents

The uncovered que is not that big a deal. If you look at the size of the que area for the Polynesian you can see that it just isn't very large. You would need something much larger for the values. There is an area, with seats, that is covered but it is off to the side. I also would prefer that there be que lines at all the resorts, but again, it's about size and area needed. I don't think Disney wants the fronts of it's resorts to be hidden behind large covered waiting areas. And that's what would happen if you combined the que with a covered ediface.

As for who shares buses..I don't think the issue is 'sharing', it's the number of stops. POP is a large resort, but it has only one stop and once you're on the bus, you head directly to the park. The AllStars can be combined...sometimes Movies has it's own bus, while Music and Sports share a bus. Sometimes Movies is included in the run.
Sure, CBR and CSR don't 'share' the bus but that bus does make mulitiple stops within the resort. Same with POR..it has 4 stops. POFQ has just one stop but it shares with POR.
So, basically, the only resorts that have one stop and then off to the parks, are POP and AKL.

I guess that makes sense. And yes you are correct the single bus stop is a nice perk. But a shaded que area would be awfully nice.

Thank you everyone for posting.

I actually hate that there are no queue lines at the deluxe resorts! People who walk up at the last minute do NOT allow those who were waiting first to board the bus first - it is a free-for-all! I would much rather stand in a queue out in the open then stampede like wildebeests out from the covered area to try to get on the bus!

They may not share buses, but they are also not a deluxe resort. I was referring to deluxe resorts. And CSR has 4 of its own bus stops.

The only resorts that have one bus stop, and one bus stop only, are Pop Century and Animal Kingdom Lodge. When Kidani Village opens at AKV, it will be only Pop Century. All other resorts either share buses or have multiple bus stops within the same resort.

Queues at the deluxes and moderates won't work. The stops are too small for that. You'd have to have five queue lines set up. If you scroll up to that Polynesian bus stop photo, where would you put them?

Then if you scroll back up and look at the All Star Movies bus stop, where would you put a roof?

I'm not a huge fan of taking the buses (just too impatient) but every time I have used them, I have never been shut out of boarding one. If someone wants to cut in front of me to get on the bus, I let them. More than likely, I'll be able to get on behind them and while they are discussing where they want to sit or stand, I can go by them to the back and sit down easily. Or go to the back and stand right by the exit door. I'm off the bus before they are at the destination.
