Value vs Moderate

I am in the middle of planning a trip to Disney in June. My husband and I went to Disney in 1996, but this will be the first trip for my daughter 13 and my son 8. We are really having a hard time picking a resort. Do we stay at Pop because it is more budget friendly or stay at Coronado. Which resort has better bus service, restaurants etc. that we all will enjoy? We are doing the dining plan. There is so much to consider.....

POP and Coronado have very similar bus service. POP has one stop, which may be something you like. Coronado has multiple stops, but is generally held to have excellent service.

As far as restaurants you will all enjoy, depends on what you enjoy! CSR has two table service options, two/three quick service options (depends how you count; Disney say 3 but Rix Market is pretty grab and go), and several lounges. At POP, there is a food court and a poolside bar.

Note also that at Coronado there is a volleyball court, hot tub and waterslide. You get an in-room coffee maker. These are not included at a Value resort.

You can have poor bus service at any resort. However, in general, Pop and Coronado have both been pretty good for us regarding buses. Pop has one stop at the front of the resort and Coronado has multiple stops.

Another thing to make note of is Pop has two double beds and Coronado has two queens. Pop has larger than life icons throughout the resort and is more in your face while Coronado is more subtle.

Our favorite Moderate and favorite Value. I would stay at either.

To add to above:

Coronado you will get Queen beds vs Full beds at POP. On DDP, CSR does give you lots of options. I go to eat there when on the DDP even when not staying there as the quick service there is much better.

POP gives you easy access to the AoA Food Court which is considered one of the better ones.

We rarely stay at Values b/c we have a family of 5. But, when it's just me and the kids, we stay at Pop. It is a fun resort. Good food court and even better food court over at AoA. If you will be in the parks a lot, I would just stay at Pop. It also has the best theming of almost any resort, IMHO.

It is hard to say which is the best for you and your family. I have stayed at resorts that best suit my needs when there. We tend stay at the resort on the day we arrive and have at least one day on the trip just to hang out at the resort. If the value will meet what you are looking for and save you some money it is well worth it. If not then you may want to spend the extra money for the other resort. The last thing I would want is to be staying at a resort I was not happy with.
