Value versus Regular - an anomaly??

According to your table on page: http://wdwig.com/faq_poly.htm The Regular
rates of $344 should apply between 4/27-8/23 whilst the Value rates of $299
should apply between 8/24-10/1.

However, when I go through the wdw booking web pages (linked from
http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/g2.asp) I get the same price for 7/15
(for 7 days with 2 adults and 1 5 year old) as I do for 9/2.

A Peak attempt of 3/4 gives me a higher rate as does a Regular attempt of
10/7.
The prices that I see are:
3/4 = £2896 (Peak)
7/15 = £2204 (Regular?)
9/2 = £2204 (Value)
10/7 = £2414 (Regular)
5/6 = £2414
6/10 = £2414
7/1 = £2414
7/8 = £2204

So it looks to me as if Value rates are kicking in near the beginning of
July.

Any ideas?

Yep, that page looks more like what I found.

Looks like an error on the WDWIG.COM site Polynesian page.

Interesting thing is that the Virgin holidays brochure doesn't change prices at the same time that the resorts do???

Why is it that the value period for the Delux resourts seems to cover the whole summer holiday season.

Seems like a strange timing to me???

Summer is when people with kids are going to the parks, due to school vacations. Young families are more likely to book the Value and Moderate resorts.

Demographically, the Deluxe resorts are visited more often by couples with no kids, couples with grown kids, etc. Those people can -- and do -- travel in the off-season, when it's both cheaper and cooler.

So price reductions are given at the Deluxe resorts in summer to entice families to upgrade.

That's my theory, anyway. :)

Wow,

I always wondered that myself. We wanted to stay deluxe this time. However, dealing with the summer heat and crowds did not appeal to me, so we decided to go in May. I just take the kids out of school for a week.

So it's regular season for us.

Thanks Mary.

There are thousands of threads on these boards about that too. It's a much heated topic.

I don't want to turn this one into that kind of thread. My kids are good students so I don't worry.
