Value Studio AKL Video

That room is just down the hall from the value studio I stayed in last year. I was interested in seeing the type of desk she had. Mine had a round table, like this-

Good obs there:) Actually the more i look at the video the more that this "Studio" is appealing to me:) Look's cosy & Unique:)

Are the Value Studios the same size as the standard AKL rooms?

I wouldnt know but hopefully someone will stop by & answer your query:) Even if they are i still think they look "Roomy & Unique":woohoo:

I think the AKV value rooms are 316 sq ft.

The AKL standard rooms are 344 sq ft and the deluxe rooms at the AKL (Concierge/King/Bunk bed rooms) are 381 sq ft.

Yes they are the same size as the AKL hotel rooms on floors 2-4. They took an AKL room, removed the large closet and put in a kitchenette. The 2-sink vanity and the bathroom are exactly the same. In AKL rooms the connecting door is always in the entryway. In some AKV studios the connecting door is in the living area instead. The furnishings are a bit different, but very similar except for the sleeper sofa that replaces either the second queen bed or bunk beds that you would get in an AKL room.

As Maria points out, they seem to have lost about 30 square feet after the conversion but I can't see where it went!

Very interesting:thumbsup2 I havnt been in a standard room at AKL but i can imagine that they are "Small" yet this "Studio" doesnt appear to look "Small" Looks are "Deceiving" though:) Still i think they are FANTASTIC VALUE:woohoo: For what they are:) & they look cosy:lmao: But in a "Cute" way:)
:goodvibes

We are staying in a value studio in August.. is there enough room for a twin size blow up matress on the floor when the sofa bed is pulled out.. boys dont want to sleep together..:confused3

I noticed a difference in the bathrooms between ours in 5016 and my inlaws in 5035. They had a double sink and a much larger counter, while we had a single sink and much smaller counter. Huge bathroom to chuck luggage in. ;)

We put a car seat, booster seat and luggage in the main kitchen closet. Stuffed another piece of luggage beside the washer/dryer in the main hallway and put our luggage under the main bed and had plenty of space for our clothes and the kids clothes in the drawers in the living room and bedroom. Strollers were put near the door in the "lock-off door" section as there's a little "notch" to put your shoes and stuff as well. Never had a lack of places to put stuff!

I have stated in an AKL standard room. I was disappointed in the size since it was a deluxe resort, but it was manageable for my family of 3 for 7 days. I'm thinking a Value Studio would be fine for Myself, DH, and DS9 for a week.

Nice how the video told everyone that DVC gets free wireless internet:surfweb:. It is a good value but quite cozy. I cannot imagine having more than 2 with little place to put luggage. A twin mattress would not have fit at the end of the double maybe in the hall, but that would block access to the door and bathroom.

Interesting. One thing I noted is that all 4 of the value studios I've stayed in had double sinks (although I never had #5016). At BCV, on the other hand, I've always gotten a single sink. Just yesterday, I switched from a week day at BCV to a weekend at QKV Jambo, and saved 3 points. So if I get a single sink this time, that's OK with me.

I think you mean room 5116? Room 5016 is a Value dedicated studio with a pool view, room 5116 is a Value 1BR with a Sunset savanna view. There is no room 5035.

When they converted an AKL hotel room into a studio relatively little was changed from the original layout. When they converted a hotel room into a master bedroom and master bathroom, the entire layout changed. For example, the toilet in the master bathroom is where the bathtub was originally. The bathtub occupies the space where the toilet and vanity were originally. The vanity is in the space that used to be the closet. In some cases there is some structural element of the building to the left of the closet which apparently prevented them from putting in two sinks. So in the 1BRs that have that issue (and in the HA 1BRs), there is a single-sink vanity.
