You can request a "Dedicated" Studio. There are 8 of them.
4 Pool View and 4 Savanna View. Parking lot views are lock-offs.
Of course no request is a guarantee but it increases your odds.

Thanks! Does the same thing apply to standard view if the value views are all gone?

Though I have not done this myself you can request and even numbered room. These face the pool or savannah. The odd numbered rooms face the parking lot.

We have stayed twice in Value studios in May for 6 nights each. One was savanna view, the second pool view. I found both excellent for DH and myself. We loved viewing the animals, and then loved the elevator down to the pool and hot tub from our "roof-tree-pool" view (5014). We used the pool and hot tub on this trip more than ever before. It's going to be hard to use the points at Kidani in 2014 for the big family gathering (but will cherish that 3rd bath in the 2 br).
