We stayed Value last year and my husband thought the rooms were small and crowded - there are 3 of us. Looking for ways to maximize the space and keeps thing neat and easily accessed while we are there.

Everyone raves about the over the door shoe organizer.

I agree! We used the cheap shoe over the door organizer and put all of our toiletries in there so the sink area was nice and bare! We hung one right next to the sink on the rack, and then another one in the bathroom for shower toiletries.

We also had one of those cheap pop up clothes bins, (dollar store also) and put all of our dirty clothes in there. (we stayed for 10 days though)

If there are only three people in the room, have the one person that will sleep by themselves, in the bed next to the bathroom. Then, that small space between the bed and the wall? You can use to store your bags full of souvineers, any suitcases you don't have room for, your extra shoes, etc.. that way it's not on the floor anywhere else. they'll just have to get out of the bed on the one side all the time. No big deal.

Also, if you plan on using the pool alot, have a big bag w/all of your pool stuff always ready to go. With towels, sunblock, watershoes, magazines, etc. That way your not digging through the suitcases all the time. (We use the big cheap bags you get at the disney store, I think they are $5?... like big beach totes?)

Food, if you plan on bringing some, or getting it from garden grocer, we always stored on top of the t.v. on the entertainment center. Along w/our paper plates, etc. (we usually did breakfast in the room if we're not on the dining plan)

Have fun~

Yes!! An over the door shoe holder to hang in the bathroom. I bought it for around $6 at the Dollar Store. We used it to hold everyone's deodorant, makeup, lotions, meds, toothbrushes, razors etc etc. It really kept the bathroom much more organized. Then I rolled it up and put it in the suitcase for the trip home.
I also purchased those $5 pop up mesh hampers and put them in the closet area. Those make a big difference in keeping the room seem picked up.

Also, I was reading on one thread to bring pop up bins - the square type ones you use in storage cubes. The will fold flat for your suitcase and then you can pop them up to put clothes in (never enough draws in the values), use by the door to hold everyone's shoes when they come in the room, or use on the table for when everyone empties their pockets/takes off hats, etc. when entering the room. And then they know where to find their stuff when leaving the room, too. Going to bring a couple of those with us since I have some empty ones here.

We too are fans of the over the door hanger. Tremendous help.

First thing we do when we move in is unpack and nest the suitcases. If you are driving, store the empty cases in the car to maximize room space. Next we take one of the water glasses and start our change cup. We always have change at the end of the day, this goes here.

We use the pop up clothes bins also. Little things make a big difference. When my daughter was younger, I would pack her clothes in zip lock bags. This makes them very easy to store in the drawers and not take up too much space.

Set up designated spots for food/shoes/park bags, etc and make certain everyone is certain of where to put things when they come back in.

Next trip I am packing hangers (for swim suits drying better in the shower) and will hang outfits each day in the closet area. Hope this steamlines us even more.

I always call Mousekeeping when we get in room and ask for 10-15 hangers. Of course, I guess there is a chance they may run out but we have never had that issue. Hand an entire outfit or 2-3 sundresses on one hanger and you max. space but can still see everything clearly.

Also, I bring a few Command hooks(you know the removable ones) and we put those on walls for bathing suits, etc.

Definitely a popup hamper and over the door hanger for toiletries.

Sounds like the shoe organizer is on everyone's list. Good ideas guys, I'm keeping track of this thread.

Well, I guess I am not an unpacker. I layer my clothes in the suitcase by day, latest day to present. Since I have a hang up back for my shower stuff, it's always on the top of suitcase. I do tho refold my dirty clothes so they fit back in the suitcase easier. I pack underwear etc in baggies so that I grab a bag and head to the bathroom for shower, leaving nothing behind. I have to say, my one friend thought I was crazy to do that, however, she couldn't get dressed after her shower cause she left something behind..Maybe I over think my packing, but, it works for me.

In addition to the shoe organizer, we bring one of those hanging closet organizers. They collapse flat but offer loads of storage once hung. We never have enough clothes the use all the hanger space so we were able to utilize the extra space on the rack. We store clothes, shoes, whatever.
