We are considering PC for Jan. Is there really enough room in the room for a Pak N Play? Are there bigger rooms that are kept secret at the value resorts to accomodate those requests?

It just doesn't appear there will be ANY room to move if we have that in the room. It is 2 adults a baby and a 4yr old. We don't need that much room, but babies do need some room to move.

On a seperate note, my baby will be turning 1 three days after we are there and we are going to celebrate his bday while there. Will the resort do anything special for a birthday?

We stayed at ASMO with 3 adults, a 4 1/2 yo and a 20 mo in a pack n play. We had no problem with space. Granted it wasnt huge and we didnt have a ton of extra room, but in general we had no troubles whatsoever.

Thanks! Wow.....all those people in one room? I thought the max was 4 or do they not count the one under 2? Or was that two adjoining rooms?

We stayed at ASMU in February of 2002. We didn't think about reserving a Pak n'Play before we left, but luckily they had one available. For those that are interested, it wasn't the cleanest thing, but it was very easy to have them set it up and then leave it in the room assembled when the vacation was over. They put a clean sheet on it. It was a small Pak n' Play and we placed it in the corner in front of the window, and moved the table and chairs over. We had plenty of room. Also, I have read that many people push one bed over against the wall, which frees up an additional 2 feet, and leave a note saying "please leave the beds alone while we're staying here." My only regret to having the Pak n' play against the window is that there is an air return in this corner. This caused our son to have an onset of croup with his cold (but it was winter and he suffers frequently from this). If you are like us and are never in the room, Value Resorts fit the bill perfectly. There isn't that much space to begin with so you get used to it. And you could store any luggage in the closet versus leaving it in the corner.

Youre right, the limit is 4, but you can have a 5th if one is under 3 in a crib. We expected to pay the extra adult charge of $10.00/night, but when my mother tried to pay at check in, the CM told her to wait a minute and she worked some Disney Magic and waived the fee. :D

That is awesome! And some people just can't figure out why it is magical to stay at a Disney resort.

Thanks!

If your little one is big enough they also have bed rails to place on the side of the bed. It saves the room taken up by the pack n play.:teeth:

CamColt, where did you set up the Pak n Play? Did you put it in front of the window like stonecreekboys did? I just realized this would not work for us because our little one has sinus and allergy problems. Letting her sleep next to the air return vent probably would not be a good idea. I've read that the Pak n Plays also fit in the bathroom area right in front of the sink but seems like this would be awfully inconvenient for the rest of the family. We would love to stay at Pop Century or go back to ASMo but I agree with the OP, the rooms may not give us enough space right now.:(

We've had a packnplay at ASMO the last 2 summers for our grandson! It will fit on either side of dresser! And still walking room!

Yes, we put the pack n play in front of the window. We also toyed with the idea of over near the connecting door. Actually, I cant remember if we actually had one that trip, but over in that are where it would be, next to the dresser. We ended up keeping some suitcases there though so we put the crib near the window.

We had 5 in our room at ASMovies as well, with plenty of space. We had 3 adults, a 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old.

The beds are high enough off the ground that our suitcases fit nicely under them. The pack and play was set up next to the dresser (where the door would be in adjoining rooms). We did as someone mentioned and pushed the bed that my 2 1/2 year old slept in against the wall, which gave us a little more room.

I wouldn't have thought of putting the baby near the window (that's where we parked the double stroller) because not only are the air vents there but because of the outside hallways, any noises from excited children (and adults!) outside will wake up the baby.

I would bring my own pack n play and not use one of thiers. Babies have too many germs, and it is never a good idea for an infant to sleep in another infants space. Check out how they do it at daycare facilities, every infant has their own crib - and even if your infant is not there they would never put another infant in that crib. Maybe that was the problem....not the air return.

I am a germ freak, and this stuff freaks me out!

For the record, my friends call me a germ freak because I spray everything with Lysol when we arrive at the hotel. You name it, I spray it, we don't walk around barefoot in hotels and we never touch the blankets or bedspreads. I also wiped out the crib, and it did have a clean sheet. My son was brewing a cold before we left. But besides this, if I were in your shoes I would put the crib next to the dresser or in the bathroom, but if you're like us, we like to keep a light on in the toilet area and leave the door cracked so we can see to get to the bathroom. We travel with a white noise machine. Everyone could use one of those in a hotel. How much time are you going to spend in the room anyway? Think of all the money you will save staying there.

We have also put our pack and play on either side of the dresser. You could move the chairs if need be. Also I have done this at other hotels put the pack and play in between the beds. If I rember correctly it should fit inbetween the beds at the All Stars. Have fun.:Pinkbounc
