Value resort - which ones close but not xtra $$?

I am going to DisneyWorld in December (5-12th). Does anyone know what buildings are closest to the hub at BOTH AS Music, AS Movies AND Pop Century? When I change my reservation I'd like to request a building, but not pay extra for the "preferred" location. The problem is since I'm going with my senior parents, they might go to bed early while I go explore Pleasure Island or something, and it's kind of creepy walking later at night by myself. (I had this last time I was there solo in 2001). So anyone know the closest buildings that are NOT preferred location?

At movies Toy story, Dalmation, and Fantasia are the closest. Fantasia is the preferred price though. So you would want Dalmation or Toy story. I've never been yet personally but we are going 10-31-04 and these are the rooms we requested. (toy story or dalmation whatever was available) My sister in law went a couple of months ago and brought me back a map of where all the buildings were.

I'm not sure where I read this, but I thought you could ask at the front desk for a room escort if needed (such as traveling solo or late at night etc.). I would call the WDW number and inquire about this to see if it is possible. Sorry for the limited help, but I would give it a shot!

ASMu - closest is Jazz (Calypso is preferred)
Pop C - closest is either the 50s or 70s (60s are preferred)
