I have a question for a friend of ours. Can a value resort comfotably accomodate 2 adults and 3 children ages 5, 7, and 15months?

If so can you rent a crib or just take the portable crib?

Thanks

Jack

IMHO, No. We stayed at All Star Sports a couple of times when DS was young, but by the time he was 5 or so it seemed far too cramped. The rooms are tiny.

If we were to stay there again, I'd look for great discounts and book two rooms.

I think it depends on what you are used to at home. Our little family of 3 lives in a 2 bedroom/1 bath house and we are used to small rooms and close quarters with each other. So even in your situation, for us the Value Resorts would be fine however a larger room at Caribbean Beach would be a little bit better. If you family is used to a larger home with lots of space and each child has a fair sized room of their own, I think you will find the Value Resort rooms to be a little too small, especially when the kids start fighting with each other.

I guess a lot depends on what you are used to. I expected the rooms to be really tiny, based on other reviews I had read. It turned out to be just fine. It's exactly what we are used to with the other types of hotels that we frequent. If you're used to a luxurious and very roomy hotel stay, then you might be disappointed and find it too small.

We were at ASMo last week, and found the rooms to be just fine for us. We had two adults, two children, and an infant. We rented a pack-n-play. For the amount of time we actually spent in the room, it was just fine. I would certainly stay here again.

Hope this helps!!

I too have stayed with a pack and play and two older children, and we were very cramped. We spent more time in the room because of naps, and decided after that we would not try that again! The next time we got two rooms and it worked out great. Twice the bathrooms, twice the beds, twice the dresser space, twice the eating space, and it was much better. We just perfered more space.

I'd say how long the trip is plays a part, too! We are going for a short four day trip and are staying at a value (DH, me, DD11 and DS9). Sure we'll be squished but for such a short trip we'll be out of the room more than we'll be in it.

Now next year when we go for 8 days, we will rent the two room at a value, or get a room at a deluxe where we'll have more room.

So if it's just for a few days, it may be doable for your friends.

I agree with the above posters who said it depends on what you like. Do you plan to go back to the room for naps? We did not go back to the room for naps (the baby slept in the stroller). We did not rent a car, but we took our car seats on the plane. So the room was VERY crowded with the pack n play and car seats. We didn't mind having to crawl over it all.

My friend and her kids stayed at All Star Movies right after we did and they could not stand not being able to walk around the pack n play. But even though they complained, they went back and stayed there again because they loved the theming and the price!

If having a cramped room will ruin your trip then don't do it. But if you want to save money then it can work. We were just happy to be at WDW!

Whenever I was getting ready my husband would take the kids to walk around or play on the playground so we weren't so cramped! Good luck! :wave2:
