My DH & I have decided to take our DD's (2 & 6 at time of travel) to DW for the first time! Should we stay at a moderate or a value? My DH & I have been before kids and once by ourselves and have stayed at moderates. I love CBR! I just don't know.....I keep changing my mind. Help!

Thanks!

Well that is a tough one. I have stayed at two different moderate Resorts myself, POFQ and CBR(I also love this one). They are both very nice, but I guess with two little kids I would not stay at POFQ(but thats just me). I have also stayed at one of the Value resorts, All Star Music. I do have to say, that I really did like this one. The price was right and the themeing of the resort was really fun! I heard the All Star Movies is a good one also and I think with the age of your two kids, they would love it! But then again they will love where ever you stay, because you are at Disney World!

I love POFQ but we're staying at POP this time. If you have the money, I say go for the moderates. The beds are more comfortable, more room, etc. Last year it was only $15 more a night for a moderate over a value, that made our decision easy! This year with the free dining it would be a lot more to stay at a moderate and since this is a "last minute" decision and with building a house, we decided to stay at Pop. I'm hoping we like it more than ASMo.

I love CBR too, and I know the kids will enjoy it too.

For a first-timer, the decision to save some money and go value is a bit easier, I feel. You're as likely as not going to focus a lot of energy enjoying the parks, and so the resort facilities will make a bit less of a difference to you, on average. If you've got the money, surely go moderate, but you'll likely be happy whichever you choose.

One thing I am very confident about: It's far easier to enjoy a stay at a moderate resort the second time after staying at a value resort the first time, than it is to enjoy a stay at a value resort the second time after staying at a moderate resort the first time. YMMV, but that may have some bearing on your decision...

Yeah, do the value. Because you save money and the resorts are more kid friendly in my opinion.

Some questions and points to help you decide.

Will you need a crib for the 2 year old? If yes, then definitely go with the moderate. You will need the extra space in the room. If no, then read on.

Is the pool important? If you only need a basic pool, values are fine. Moderates have some slides at the pool and some have hot tubs.

There is a higher activity level in the public areas at the values than there is at the moderates. This is probably because the buildings at the moderates are more spread out. However, I did not find All Star Sports to be loud and my room overlooked the X and O football field near Stadium hall. If quiet is important at the value, request a room facing the trees. It was very quiet back there.
