Our budget is about $100 per night for a hotel room. That's either going to be a value resort or a moderate with a code. We're going early-mid June next year.

So would you reserve the value because that's what you can afford in case there is no discount, or reserve a moderate and pray for a code? But if I reserve a moderate and no code comes out I'm stuck in a room we really can't afford (approx. $165 including tax). Or would you reserve nothing at this time because its too soon to be thinking about it?

Thanks!

It is awfully early to be planning at this stage

I would advise booking what you can afford and then if you get codes or rates that meet your budget in a higher category property that would be a bonus

thanks

We always book what we can afford, and then if a code comes out, we'll upgrade to a better resort. This way we're sure to have something that we can afford.
:D

With that budget you should make a Moderate with a code. And I would go for it. I would take a moderate over a value any time and I think the moderates are a much better value for the money.

I would book a value and then if a code comes out great then you can upgrade. I've stayed at value and moderate I'm not that picky so if I stayed value again I would just be happy to be at Disney. This year we are staying deluxe but next year it will probably be value unless some good deals come out.

I don't pick my resorts on if it is value etc. Just whatever theme I think is neat and what I can afford.

I would book a value and wish for some pixie dust for a moderate code. It will be a lot less stress to book the value- knowing you can afford it- and hope for the moderate. A trip to WDW at a value is better than no trip at all. Just my humble opinion.

I agree with the majority. Book what you can afford and hope for a code. Also check for special offers at S/D. They have an awesome one right now. Check the top thread in this forum.

Here's another vote for book what you can afford! :)

Are you a AAA member? You might be able to save some money that way. Still wouldn't get you into a moderate for $100 or less a night, but it's worth a shot! :)

We prefer the value resorts over the moderates any time of the year, code or no code.

The value resorts have better food in the food courts, a more convenient lay out, and of course better price for the most part.

Book what you can afford and then if a code does happen switch your ressies.

I would book what i can afford and if a code come out for a mod than I would upgrade.

Thanks for the advice! I thought of another option to consider - renting DVC points. I checked and could do this for approx. $110 per night for a studio. Of course this is assuming I could find somebody to rent from, availability, and it we'd have to change resorts mid-stay so we wouldn't pay higher weekend rates. Lots to consider!
