Value 2 days or Moderate 1?

Going to be at a timeshare for the bulk of our stay, but we're planning on staying a couple days at a Disney resort partly to get the perks you get for staying at a resort and partly just because staying at a Disney resort is fun.

But I'm having a hard time deciding if it would be better to stay 2 days at a value resort or just 1 day at a moderate. I could possibly be talked into 1 day at a deluxe if someone had a compelling argument.

What are peoples thoughts? One of my biggest issues with a value resort are the double beds. I'm not really a small gentleman so I really don't enjoy sleeping on a double bed with my wife.

If you stay at POP Century, you will have an option to get a queen sized bed in addition to a queen sized table bed. When I went in October, we were fortunate to stay in an updated room. It definitely felt like a moderate room. Here's a video of one of the renovated rooms:

If you're looking for the experience and the benefits/fun from a deluxe resort, the Polynesian is definitely a great resort to stay. Expensive, but you're close to MK, the transportation center is right next door to travel to Epcot, the view of MK from afar is amazing, especially at night, good food at 'Ohana and Kona, pools, walking distance to GF, a lot less people on buses compared to POP Century. There's more benefits but that comes at a cost. Either way, it's all about having fun and hopefully you find what you're looking for. Good luck!

Whether it is to maximize park time or to enjoy the resort, I would do the 2 days.

If your goal was to maximize park time, then stay at the value because you really don't care about the resort and will spend little time there.
If your goal is to enjoy the resort, then stay at the value for the 2 days because you don't really get 1 day when you stay 1 day. Having 2 days will give you time to enjoy yourself.

Wow, these were both great responses.

@Garebear I'd been wondering what a table bed was! That video finally answered that question! The Pop Century looks like it might be the resort I was looking for.

@davper you make excellent points. Two days sounds like the way to go

That's good to hear! I'm not sure if they have renovated all the rooms at the resort. So if this resort definitely a choice, see if you can request a renovated room. I think both the 80's and 90's rooms are all renovated.

I love that table bed so much I wish even the deluxes had it!

Yeah, that's my one concern, is I'll need to be able to request those rooms somehow. I'll probably call ahead and make sure that's option.

I'm sure that won't be an issue with them. We were fortunate to have a friend use her Touring Plans membership to request the specific room we wanted. But you have to have to room confirmation # connected to the account. Although we could have stayed in one of the older rooms before transferring to another resort, it was definitely a good call since the newer rooms were really nice inside.

Is it just you and your wife? There are King size beds available in some rooms if you only need 1 bed.

Hey all, thought I'd provide an update on what the plan is. There was a lot of back and forth in the middle, but I ended up settling on the Pop Century. It does seem like I should have a pretty good chance of getting the table bed, so that's what I'm counting on. For a little while I had a reservation with the Caribbean Beach resort (there was a special that put it at the same price point as Pop) but then I read about all the construction going on there and decided that wasn't the experience I wanted to have much less for my daughter.
We're set to leave in 45 days! Super excited!
