Hello All!

We're DVC members who will be in the Orlando area - but not staying on property this time.

Do DVC members still get free valet parking (obviously, we'll tip - I know that used to be a touchy subject here!) at the DVC resorts on property. Is it all of them still or just certain ones?

I know in the past, this was a "DVC member" perk and we were able to use it while staying at the Swan/Dolphin - but it has been a while!

Thanks

No, free valet parking for members was taken away a couple of years ago. Disney outsourced the valet parking.

DVC Members do not get free valet parking anywhere.

Okay - clealy I've been under a rock for the past few years!!:)
Got the search on my computer working again and see this is no longer offered.

Are we still able to visit the resort, self park and walk around a bit just flashing our card or do we need specific dining reservations?

Depends on how busy the resort is and the security guard. Sometimes we are turned away, other times they just wave you in. All now want to see a picture ID which is just stupid IMO.

General rule is that you are not supposed to be able to get in the gate and park at any DVC resort (and any WDW resort) unless you are staying at or have a reservation for something at the resort. Contemporary/BLT has a three hour pass rule even if you have a reservation.

BWV has a main gated lot and a second, across the street, overflow lot which leaves a lengthy walk. Any one can park in the overflow lot. In the evening, they also let in many to the main, gated lot if they are just going to the boardwalk. In the day time starting early afternoon, you can likely get in by just telling them you are going to ESPN for lunch (since it takes no reservations, you don't need one to get to it)

You can get into SSR if purpose is to visit DVC sales office and go see the models.

Then they apparently have discretion not to enforce any of the rules against entry if they feel like letting you in because you want to visit and that is more likely to occur in off-seasons.

You will not gain entry at BWV or BCV during Food and Wine Festival if you are not staying there. Last year it was reportedly horrendous at that time. And the Swan & Dolphin do not have any free parking, you pay even for self park. Keep in mind they are not Disney owned resorts.

Your DVC member card doesn't give you much of anything other than a few shopping and dining discounts. They might not let you self park without an ADR.
