Valet parking at HRH

We are staying at HRH for 3 nights in August and thinking about valet parking as we will have a rental car. I know it costs $29 per night but apart from that I don't know anything about how valet parking works as I've never done it before. Can someone give me an idiots guide to what we do, how much to tip, does the cost go on the room, can we do a mixture of valet and self parking? Anything else you think I should know? Thanks

you pull car up front at hrh entrance and valet will take it from there to park it.
when you want the car later, they will retrieve it and bring it to the front for you.
the employees are outside and waiting for hotel visitors/etc.

tipping is common and your choice.
some go with 10% while others will up that amount.
you tip the person at the time.

if i went in the summer and it was blazing hot outside, i would be a bigger tipper if my car was brought to me with the air on and cool inside.
and if the lots are quite full, would take that into consideration of them doing all the work and me not having to drive around trying to find a parking spot.

you can do both
valet and self park.
if you drive around the lot and can not find a space, use valet...

I don't really like valet. The cost is higher, you have to tip...you have to stand there looking awkward while waiting. And, ancient history, valets at a hotel in New Orleans once ruined my car's clutch. And they pretended it didn't happen. I had to stay an extra day or two there while it was fixed on their dime. I'd just rather not deal with strangers driving my car, rental or not.
