Hello,

we are leaving to DL in April (26th for 4 days) can't wait!!! (my first time there--though i've been to WDW once)

anyway

we are staying at the DLH
and i know that parking is a ways away from the hotel.

do you know if they have valet parking,
and if so,
how much is it???

thanks!

I believe it is $18 per day for hotel guests. I know its not more than $20 per day. As for self parking at DLH, I believe its next to the banquet rooms. We stayed there a couple of weeks ago and I was told we could park there but I used valet because its so much easier with 3 little kids.

It's around 20 dollars, but was not over that I know for sure. That is per day which can get pricey.

When we were there in November, it was $17 a day for valet. (We had used the valet the night we arrived and had every intention of getting the car and moving to self-parking the next day...but never got to it. Luckily, we were only there for four nights, and we were aware of the daily rate, so it wasn't a shock when we got the bill.)

I stayed at DLH in Jan & found the self parking by the banquet rooms very, very convenient. You just went in the bldg w/ Goofy's Kitchen & up 2 sets of escalators & you're there. I parked valet for the first few nights but after I found out where this self parking was, I switched over to self park.

I figured since there is a $10.00 resort fee which covers parking, I wasn't about to pay for valet as well. Hubby dropped the bags, kids and I at the entrance to the hotel and then he parked the car in the self parking. He was back with us in the lobby before I even finished the check in process. We were on the 5th floor in the Magic tower overlooking the lobby foyer and I could see our car from the window in our room.

seriously...I remember use to they would tack on like $4 or $5 a day when you valet'd but now its ridiculous....and since I never move my car or go out of disney when Im there, Im not about to pay that amount..I will definitely self park

Self parking isn't so bad at DLH, just drop off baggage with bellhop and park car and check in.
We've only used valet once and it was at PPH. We couldn't find parking in the garage so we decided to suck it up and valet the car so that we could head to the park quicker.

I didn't realize you can split your parking at DLR. I didn't think you can use valet on your first day and then pull it out and go to self park on the next day and for the remainder of your trip and not get a bill for valet for the duration of your hotel stay. I thought that if you used valet on your first day, then you are charged valet for the rest of your stay.

So, I take it they let you into the self-parking area even if you don't have the slip of paper to put on your wind-shield? I read that at check-in they hand you a ticket that has to go on the vehicle so you can park in self-parking. If that's the case, we might self- park as soon as we get to the hotel, and then check-in afterwards.

Yes, you can split your parking; I did it on a previous trip, and was only charged valet for the first night. I arrived at 9:30 p.m. with just my then 8 year old son and was too darn tired after having driven six hours to deal with the self-parking. But I had no problem getting the car out of valet the next day and moving it over to the self-park lot. (This most recent trip, though, we just got lazy and decided the cost was pretty minimal given what else we were spending on the trip.)
