We are arriving in a van Sunday-3 adults and 3 young teens. I know that there is valet parking service. How is the luggage and tips handled. Do you tip the valet for the parking and luggage? Or are these separate services? Is it all handled by the valet and the tip split?
What is an appropriate tip for the valet? For luggage? So much a bag?
Thanks for any help in this. I just want to make sure that each service gets tipped appropriately.
Really looking forward to the trip. We've been to OKW a couple of times and liked it very much, but the Beach location seems perfect. Ray

When you arrive there will be someone to unload your luggage. They need to be tipped, generally $1 per bag.

Then the valet will take the car, I tip $2 when they take it and bring it back, others only tip on the bring back.

The person who delivers the luggage to your room will also need to be tipped, again $1 per bag (this includes groceries).

So yes, it can be a fairly expensive process to get everything up to the room that first day, but for me, I'm more than happy to shell out a few bucks and relax :)

Thanks, That clears it up. I thought there would be only one person there (Valet). Tahanks, Ray

I have a similar question. We are coming to the BCV's by way of towncar. We know that we'll be checking in right away and be getting our room (evening check in), so what happens to our luggage while we check in, do we take our luggage in line with us knowing we'll be going right to our room? If we get assistance from outside (don't really need it, there's 5 of us) do they stick around with us while we check in? This will be our first "deluxe" resort....not sure if services are different from POR. thanks.

When you arrive, the towncar driver will unload your luggage. Consider this service in your tip to the driver. At this point, one of the bell staff will offer to place your luggage on a luggage cart and give you a receipt for the luggage. Go to reception and check-in. When you get to your room, call bell services and the luggage will be brought up to your room. Tip the bell person (I usually tip $1 per bag but never less than $5). Alternately, you could carry your own bags to reception and on to the room. In that case you'd still tip the towncar driver.

I consider the tips to the bell staff as just a routine vacation expense. It helps the economy by keeping money in circulation :) .

Thanks Ralph. Ya, thats basically what happened at POR too, but we were always early there and left the luggage in storage all day. I could be really cheap and take our own luggage to the room or spend the 6 bucks or so and have someone else do it. Gee...lets see, that 6 bucks could go toward a nice sundae at Beaches and Cream! Hey, thanks for the response. I thought that was the case. :D
