We will be in 2 vehicles on our trip in a few days. Can we valet both of them at BWV with no charge? Thanks :)

It shouldn't be a problem.

You may be required to show two blue DVC member cards.

There are no requirements of one car per membership or per card. As long as the member with a card is present, I don't think it'll be an issue.

Ask at check in for 2 parking passes. We have in the past when we both have been driving. You can each show your blues pass if needed.

You can park both valet. Whenever you park any car valet, driver should tell CM that they are DVC member so it is listed as such and no charge is made to your room. Another note, for as long as I have been going to BWV and using valet, they have never asked to see my DVC card.

Now that valet parking has been outsourced, they are getting more dilligent about payment. When folks were presenting their tickets at the desk to have a car retrieved, the agent was collecting payment from those who couldn't present a member ID. This was about 3 weeks ago.

Oh, and for what it's worth, the service was good when we used it. Upon arrival I saw someone who was clearly a Disney employee (wearing a Disney logo shirt and holding a clipboard) overseeing the attendants and critiquing their work. It appears Disney will continue to be actively involved in monitoring quality even though the employees providing the service are no longer theirs. Took quite a while to get our car back later (almost 15 minutes on a fairly slow evening), but at least they were courteous.

And we have been asked for a blue card EVERY time we have valeted at VWL, BWV, and BCV.

Wow. This is very much different from our experience. In several cases they have just taken our word for being DVC members (although perhaps the fact that we were wearing DVC hats/shirts may have helped our credibility). Otherwise, our resort ID has been enough to satisfy them. Never had to show our member card.

I think a lot of people have been asked for the blue card for many different perks over the years. And it does appear to be more the last 2-3 years. But the question is whether they would deny you the perk if you didn't have the card but had other documentation. My guess is it's possibly but unlikely. I actually put a scan of my card on my PDA as a back up. People on this site tried to tell me that wouldn't work but it has so far.

My experience of never being carded at valet may have something to do with the fact that I have been there so many times (usually at least three times a year) that when I show up, there is usually somebody that remembers me. Somewhat to my chagrin, when I hit the pool for the first time during any visit, the bartenders remember my name, what I am going to order to drink. and immediately start a tab without my asking.

So your reputation precedes you, LOL.

My parents are joining us for part of our BWV stay in June; we are DVC members, and they are not, but we are using our points to get them a separate 1BR. Shouldn't they get free valet parking as well since they are staying on our points? (We aren't renting to them.) If so, how would Disney enforce the "blue card" policy? My parents will have a separate car and obviously won't have a "blue card." Their room key should indicate they are staying on DVC points though, right?

Linda

As with all perks, free valet parking is a member perk--not an "anyone using DVC points to stay there" perk.

It is POSSIBLE that the valet parking staff will view the "DVC Member" notation on the room key as sufficient. But if they insist on seeing the blue member ID and your parents cannot provide it, they will have to pay.

Wow....that's pretty disappointing. I can understand non-members not getting perks (and I guess I already knew that), but I've always viewed "non-members" as people who were renting points. We are spending a ton of points for this vacation as we are staying for nearly 2 weeks in a 2BR, and we have reserved 1 BR for my parents. As we are a family of 5, technically, we could have fit my parents into our 2BR, but we reserved the 1BR for them to give them some peace and quiet time away from their grandchildren. Feels like since my parents are there, as our guests during the same time as us, they should get the same perks. The whole ability to have family/friends join us was definitely pitched as one of the reasons to buy DVC.

Anyway, it won't be much of an issue.....in actuality, we tend to just park our own car anyway.....we usually request a standard room and it's just as close to park ourselves and enter the side door and it save us the tip money.

It's just more of the principle. IMHO, non-members staying on member points as guests of the member at the same time and at the same resort as a member, should get the same perks as that member.

If you read the POS, it does say that guests of members staying with the member are entitled to "some" of the member perks.

Technically, the perks apply to anyone staying in the same room as a DVC member. However, they will likely treat you both the same, particularly if you arrive together. Thereafter, they will have a room key showing them as DVC and that should be enough to get free valet.

Sorry, but I disagree. The valet parking perk description on the member website reads:

"Valet parking is complimentary at Disney's BoardWalk Resort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and Disney's Beach Club Resort. Just show your Disney Vacation Club Member ID Card."

In short, those who aren't able to produce a DVC Member ID are not guaranteed free parking. I do think that many times the resort ID is honored for discounts, but in this case it's not specifically listed as being sufficient to receive the perk. If the valet parking staff refuses to allow the discount to those presenting a room key, I don't see where folks would have a leg to stand on. The language is crystal clear.

Well my experience has been since I've been a member that anyone staying in a room on points can get the free valet at the resort you are staying at. We always request 4 or 5 parking papers when we arrive because I usually have 5 or more villas at once. Everyone in our party has gotten free valet and everyone has gotten free use of the health club. Remember you are using your paid for points for their reservation so it is as if you are staying in that room. If it has changed I'll be the first to complain as I use most of my points every three year for large gatherings rather than several trips per year by myself. That being said other perks require the use of the blue card. dining discounts, golf etc. On the paper you put on the dashboard that allows guest parking it will say Disney vacation club member or at least mine did. I was never asked even when parking at other DVC resorts. So if its changed it I will be the one at the front desk complaining about this change because it is a change.
