Valet or TTC?

We have a late breakfast reservation at CM. We will not be visiting the parks but we are planning to look around some resorts and downtown that day.

Would it be better to valet park at the CR for our breakfast reservation or park at TTC and monorail over? I know that there is a 3 hour limit on self parking at the CR, but I think that I understand the time limit is a little if you pay to valet park. I want to enjoy this rare time to look around and don't want to be a 'clock watcher'.

What are the current fees for parking at the TTC and valet at the CR?

Personally I'd self park and not worry about the 3 hour limit. I know there is a limit but I really don't think they'll have the tow truck out there to to you away at exactly 3 hours. It doesn't sound like you'll be there much over the 3 hour limit and you aren't using the lot to get a close spot to the MK so go ahead and park and enjoy your visit to the resorts.

I am assuming you'll just be having your car at CR while you visit the other monorail resorts and not during the downtown Disney part of your day. If you're planning on using Disney transportation to the non monorail resorts and to DTD then I'd advise parking at the TTC.

I would say to valet park because if you go over the 3 hour limit this way your not taking up a parking space from a guest who is actually staying at the Contemporary, since there are a lot more valet parking spots then regular parking spots. So this way you won't need to keep checking the time incase you are not seated right away at Chef Mickey's.

So once your finished your meal and looking at the other Magic Kingdom Monorail Resorts, you can take your car and drive off to Downtown Disney.

I'd valet. You pull up and get out.

The other way, you have to park, wait for a tram, ride the tram, get off and walk up the monorail platform, wait for the monorail and ride that, making at least 3 stops before the contemporary. Ugh.

If you've valet parked at your own hotel, you valet for free at the Contemporary. Otherwise, they'll charge you - I think it is around $10 now.

Breakfast and a trip over to the Poly and GF shouldn't take much more then 3 hours so we're talking about the OP parking maybe 3-4 hours and not wanting to rush back to the Contemporary. I suppose they could move thier car after breakfast over to the Poly and park there to reset the 3 hours or even leave the CR parking lot turn around and ask the CR guard for a 3 hour parking pass to tour the resort. But all things considered adding less then an hour to the 3 hour parking really isn't a big deal.

What beattyfamily meant by your 1st paragraph is that your saying it's ok to park in the regular parking lot of the Contemporary, which has become a lot harder now with the demolishing of the North Garden Wing and to visit the Magic Kingdom so that means there is one less spot for someone who is paying a lot of $ to stay at the Contemporary. There is a sign when you arrive at the Contemporary which says "We do not provide parking for the Magic Kingdom" so that should be followed by everyone, even if the guards would not give you a 3 hour parking pass.

If that is what the smilie meant, I have to disagree. Nobody was talking about the Magic Kingdom, so beattyfamily was wrong, IMO.

Even though BillSears or the OP said anything about going to the Magic Kingdom, BillSears still implied that it's ok to stay past the 3 hour parking limit. I agree that cars won't get towed the very second 3 hours have past but they would be eventually, so they must have that time limit for a reason and others have seen cars get towed from the other Magic Kingdom Monorail Resorts.

As for the going to the Magic Kingdom part, it's still a thing others should know if they happen to read this thread if they did not know about the rule.
