I am hosting a Valentine's Day Tea Party for the women in my church and I need ideas. I will be providing desserts...so if anyone has any good and easy ones please let me know. I am expecting about 30 women.

I also need game ideas. I thought about giving each lady a heart and asking her to write 5 things about herself but not put her name on it. We would then draw one of these hearts and try to guess who it is. But I really really need better ideas. HELP!!!!

Thanks.

Two years ago I threw a Valentines Day tea for my daughters and their friends. One of the special treats I served were oversized chocolate dipped strawberries. I bought the larger variety and dipped the chocolates half way in melted chocolate bits. I let them harden in airtight containers in the fridge, and then I placed them on doilies on a serving tray. They were a big hit.

I just read on a box of cereal that strawberries are a member of the rose family - seems appropriate for Valentines Day!

Have fun!

I make really nice mini chocolate eclairs.. really that sounds hard, but one step you can do the night before, and then all you make is the eclairs (those in itself aren't hard either), and the frosting is melted chocalate drizzled.

I do the mini eclairs with the strawberries, for a friend that came over for coffee/desert, and it was a huge hit!

Lemon squares might be nice with a pretty powdered sugar pattern on top.. little mini muffins/mini quick breads...

We had Valentine's Tea party for DD a few years ago. We had chicken salad sandwiches (heart shaped of course) chocolate dipped strawberries, cherry scones, and madelines (the very pretty little cake/cookie baked in the shell shaped pans) and raspberry tea.

Mmmm everything sounds wonderful!! I love Scones and Tea...I am *slightly* addicted to tea and I am always drinking it while Dis'ing! LOL

Thanks for that great link, MommieMommie! :) I was just looking at it and was laughing as they showed a picture of "My First Tea Set", the same one I bought my 3 1/2 year old DD...She loves to have tea with me (she gets Ginger Ale!:p) I can't wait until she is old enough to go have tea with me at the Grand Floridian!! :)

Hi Beanie... just wanted to ask if you'd ever tried herbal decaf tea for your lil one. My girls love peach tea with honey, served barely luke warm. And I know what you mean about "can't wait 'til she's old enough..." When we go to WDW in August I am going to surprise my girls (9&11) with a "real" tea at the GF. Seems like yesterday when I was the one who "can't wait..." but boy, the time just flew by! I'm sure you'll always cherich your tea and gingerale years!

from one tea lover to another!

Mis4Mouse...that is so great that you are doing the tea in August!! I am so jealous! ;) I am definitely going to try the Peach Tea though!! I think my DD might like that one, she has tasted my tea before, but didn't really care for it...she does love her Tea Parties though!! We even make those Cucumber Sandwiches with no crust...she thinks that is the best!! :):)

Have fun at the GF!! You will have to tell me all about it when you get back...:):)
