Valentines day is soon and I'm looking to buy my mom a necklace, charm or bracelet. I need help figuring out what to get her. I've personally never been into jewelry so I don't know much, but she loves it and it would make a great gift. I'm sitting here and don't even know what questions to ask. My budget is up to $200. Would that even get me a nice piece? Any advice on where to go for a nice selection or just any department store, Kohls? Maybe my question is - What do you guys like or think any mom would love?? Nothing granny-ish are usually her requirements :rotfl:

Maybe I'll just order flowers or an edible arrangement if I can't figure this out! She loves those too.. I did flowers last year that I ordered online and they hand delivered them with freezer burn! Two dozens roses and they were not of quality for the money spent. SO any good online flower companies that work with great florists or at least check the products being sent? In case getting her jewelry doesn't work out.

I live pretty far away and with work being busy I can't take off days to visit. Which is why I buy online and ship in case anyone was wondering.

How about a Pandora bracelet? You can certainly do the silver bracelet and a few charms for under 200... you can also buy charms for her bracelet for other holidays and bdays etc..

I second the Pandora bracelet. I got one for my birthday last year and I wear it every day. My kids gave me charms for Christmas and I'll probably get another from dh for V-Day. It makes future gift giving so easy!
The sterling silver bracelt is around $50 and charms start at around $25.

Jane Seymour has a jewelry line called open hearts that is sold at Kay Jewelers. It's has different types of jewelery to go with her "open hearts" theme. At different price points starting at less than a $100. I think some are even themed about moms.

Here is what Jane had to say about the design theme:

I'd love to share with you the inspiration for this jewelry design, because my wish is to make my open heart design a universal symbol of hope and love.

The design originated with one of my paintings. Every time I painted a heart I noticed that it was always open and when there were two or more, they were connected.

When I thought about why, I saw the heart this way, I realized that to me an open heart reflected all our life experiences -- our joys, heartbreaks and inspirations.

Most importantly, it reflected my mother's advice that only when you can love yourself and keep your heart open, can you best give and receive love. That love can be for another person, a pet, a charity, or a personal passion, like mine for dancing and the arts. These open hearts should speak to every kind of love in your life, and of course love has no boundaries, it flows unconditionally.

Life is full of challenges and it is my hope that this jewelry collection will remind you every day that if your heart is open it can never stay broken.

I agree with the Pandora bracelt. I have one and I love it. And it's great for upcoming holidays, because you can always get her another charm to go with it.

:)

As a mom, I'd much rather receive a nice piece of jewelry rather than expensive flowers that will die in a week. I can wear the jewelry for years and always remember how my family loved me! I agree with both suggestions, the Jane Seymour necklace or the Pandora bracelet.

You wanna have a talk with my family now?? :goodvibes

Good for you, so sweet to think of your mom.

She wears it all the time and is now asking for another piece from the collection for Valentine's day..As you can tell it's less than $200 but there are all different price points and there's necklaces, rings, bracelets, and more as part of the collection..if she loves jewelry I'm gonna bet she'll love one of them...You can buy online or I'm sure there's one near you that you can pop in and take a look at..hope this helps with your decision!

I am a Pandora fan as well. My girls started a bracelet for me last year for my birthday. It's something I would not have spent the money on myself and I like that I can remember a special occasion with each charm they give me.

Pandora! It also solves the problem for upcoming gift giving holidays!

I bought my bracelet on vacation and have had fund adding charms, changing charms and creating a unique look that's one-of-a-kind!

I emailed her an image of Pandora bracelets saying I'm considering getting one for my aunts birthday(wink wink) and she said "Great idea, I have a few of those with the little charms":rotfl2:so much for that one! I'm ordering a Edible Arrangement now since she's a sucker for fruit displays and plus I still have time to order it! Does this company offer any sort of coupon code?

Pixieflip- I think your right about flowers. They just die so soon for the prices!
