When do the Valentine's Day decorations at the parks usually go up? And when do they go down? I have a friend who wants to ask his crush out when the decorations are up (on actual Valentine's Day he probably can't go because he'll be at school...) and I want to help him out :woohoo:

I have never heard of Valentine Decoration at the parks. Curious to see if anyone else responds, because I will be there on Vday this year.

Yup! I believe there's a Disney Parks Blog post about the Valentine's Day decorations from last year. Unfortunately I'm new to the boards and it will not allow me to post the link unless I have 10 posts :confused3

For Valentines day they put some, but not a lot of decorations. These are special plants /arrangements with Valentines Day Cards. "Mickey Loves Minnie" etc.

The main thing that is done is that the Princesses will have their Prince with them.

I have some photos from a few years ago.... I will try to find and post them here. :confused3

I think a lot of the flowers are changed for pink and red ones around then.

Thanks for your responses! Is there an approximate date when they start putting them up? Probably a week before Valentine's Day? I just want to know because I want to make sure they're still up when my friend goes. Even though it won't be THAT many decorations (as say, Christmas or Halloween), I want to make sure that they're there when he goes so it sets up a romantic, cutesy kind of setting :lovestruc

Really? The princes will be there??? Oooh, I love that! Is that a for sure thing? I'd love to take my dd for that.

If this it true I may have to make a special trip.

I don't know when it starts. But Valentine's Day is also our anniversary for DW & I, so we'll be there to celebrate.

Here's the blog on last year's decorations:

It doesn't say when it started, other than the fact that the special Valentine's menu at Catal started the Friday before.

HTH,
Bob

ETA - Oh, here's another blog on this year's Valentine's menus. Hmmm, I already have reservations at BB for one day. I wonder if I should book one of the others...

So, looking at the Steakhouse 55 it says "package" is that dinner for 2 for $55?

Just called Vacation Planning at DLR. The Steakhouse 55 Valentine's menu is only available Valentine's Day. That's a bummer, because we're going home on the 14th, and will probably be just about home by the time they open for dinner. Oh well, it looked like fun.

For Surf & Turf? I doubt it :rotfl: I took "package" to mean a Prix Fixe menu for a multi-course meal.

Ya, I didn't think that sounded right...it's just the term "package" threw me off...... LOL

"Steakhouse 55’s dinner package will cost $55 (natch!). Enjoy Strawberry and goat Cheese Spinach Salad with Candied Pecans, Rosebud Champagne Sorbet, and a Surf & Turf entree of Filet and Scallops with Lobster Mashed Potatoes and Broccolini."

It sure as heck sounds good! Too bad it's only that day, I was hoping to make a quick weekend trip the weekend before or two weekends after. I was hoping it would be available all month....oh well.

THAT looks good too!
