Hi,

Only got just over a week to go until we go to DLP! :cool1:

Is there a Hypermarket at Val d'Europe or La Vallee Shopping Centre?

We arrive on a Friday afternoon and are thinking of popping to a Hypermarket straight away to get some supplies (drinks / snacks etc).

We are staying at the Holiday Inn.

How can we get there from the Holiday Inn?
How much will it cost to get there?
How long will it take?

We don't want to take up too much of the day as we want to go to the park as it's open until 11pm that day so we want to make the most of our time, but we thought by getting some bits and bobs from a Hypermarket it would help keep our costs down!

Yes there is. It's a HUGE Auchan with oodles of stuff in it.
You don't say whether you are driving or not so I'll give both directions.
If you are driving, go to the little roundabout and turn left, then turn left again at the main roundabout. Keep driving down that main road and you will see signs for the centre.
If you aren't driving you can catch the RER from Disney train station one stop down to Val D'Europe. The train journey itself is two minutes and I think the trains run every 10 minutes. I think it costs 1 euro 50 each person each way (can't quite remember exactly). When you come out the train station turn right and keep walking until you hit the Val D'Europe (you can't miss it).

The Auchan there is amazing - fantastic variety and so cheap. Just don't go when you're hungry!

I wish Auchan would expand to Ireland. :D

Wow, sounds fab.

Can't wait now.

We are just gonna unpack and then pop there to get some food/drinks to help keep the costs down for our holiday.

Drinking at DLP is soooo expensive!

Auchan is huge. Lots of great items at good prices.

On our last trip we ate at the Chinese restaurant in the shopping centre, it was mentioned in the Brits Guide. We had a lovely inexpensive meal. Would eat there again.

The restaurants stay open long after the shops have shut.

Auchan is the place to buy wine etc if you are taking any home. Saves stopping off in Calais.

Unfortunately not an option for us as we are flying, but does provide a place for us to buy cheap wine and beer to keep our room for the duration of the trip.

Saves spending so much at dinner time if we drink some before we go out in the evenings.

And also, planning on getting some bits for breakie and lunch too, to keep food costs down.

Can't wait.

Wish it was this time next week as I would be waiting to leave work to go to pack last minute bits ready for the flight on Fri am.

Oh well, only 8 days to go! :Pinkbounc

Yes, the Auchan is a huge 2-level market inside the mall. (I stayed across the street at the Hotel L'Elysee, so it was indeed convenient!) They sell baked goods, wines, some Disney souvenirs, general merchandise, juice, soda, water, etc. I bought pastries there for breakfast. Much cheaper than in the parks.

If you decide to purchase wine, etc., to bring home, check the airline restrictions for the amount that you can purchase. Also, with the recent tightening of airport security, they may not allow any liquids on carryon bags. That may change by the time you take your trip, but check first!

Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!
