Vacuum Cleaner - type with hose?

I am wondering if the vacuums in BWV are the type with a hose that can be used for small areas or, in my case, sucking air out of plastic packing bags? Because we are traveling in January, I want to bring enough warm (bulky) clothing. I also need to bring some extra towels and blankets for our 4-year old floor sleeper. Using vacuum packed ziplocs would be a huge help but I want to be able to repack them when I leave.

Thanks!

Vacuums are the upright kind. I don't recall seeing any attachments at all.

I thought of doing this last Oct and the one in the BCV unit didn't have a hose!

I thought of the same thing too. I brought some of those vacuum bags on one of our trips a few years ago. When I saw that they did not have a hose on the vacuum I just put the clothes in the bag and rolled it up, and then pulled the top closed. It did a great job and acomplished what I wanted. The new bags for travel has a valve at the bottom so it soes the same thing.

We were just at BWV, and as we are also thinking about using those vacuum bags, I looked at the vacuum in the closet, and I saw a hose.

Thanks! I think I'll take the chance they do have the right type of vacuum. I always have a spare duffle bag with me anyway for gifts. Maybe if I know I need it to get stuff home I won't fill it up with souvies!

By the way, my parents always just use regular plastic bags. They twist the bag around the hose and then have a twist tie ready. Cheaper than the investment of special bags, especially if they might not even work once we get there!

While none of the resorts have the hoses attach to the vacuum, don't let that keep you from bringing your travel bags. We use the vacuum at home to make them super flat. Then, we just roll them and sit on them before leaving our DVC home (which is pretty amusing in and of itself). They don't get quite as flat as they do when you use a vacuum but they still take up a lot less space.
